It seems as though Quebec’s main concern about its fish advisories is that it wants to reduce the risk of mercury exposure from eating fish. It mentions it has made efforts to clean up local water sources. If you click on the recommended number of servings link, you’re redirected to another page listing the benefits of eating fish, and despite...

I’ve learned that rice milk has a higher carbon footprint than I thought, I will definitely steer clear of it in the grocery store and choose better plant milk alternatives.

It definitely surprised me learning that some people dump their used cooking oil into a deep corner of their backyard to get rid of it. After reflecting on my own oil use habits, I find that I don’t use oil much unless it’s being used in tofu marinades, using a small amount of sesame oil to fry vegetables, or drizzling olive oil on potatoes...

Yesterday I did a quiz that was part of the "30 for 30 in nature" challenge. I got 11 out of the 12 questions correct! Last year, I took a Sustainable Happiness training and I could answer most of those questions because of that training. Here is the quiz, in case you didn't come across...

Today I watched a documentary called Just Eat It. It was about how much food is being wasted. Globally, 1/3rd of all of the food produced is being wasted. I found this number to be shocking. It was also mentioned that there are no regulations about selling foods after their best before dates (at least in the USA when this documentary was...

I have mixed feelings on this topic. While I agree that factory farmed and mas produced animal products have a terrible impact on the planet and animal welfare, I believe that supporting farms which use regenerative agricultural practices can actually be beneficial to the environment. Animals raised on pasture can restore and enrich the...
