It's day 14 -- the wrap of the second week of the Ecochallenge! I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with a cold, but exercising is still on the schedule for today.

I emit more carbon than I did last year due to some life changes after moving states, but I have plans in the works to gain that progress back. As we are currently renting, there are some choices that are not in our hands. I look forward to taking those green strides again in the future, and that includes my composting bin!

I was surprised to discover how easy it was to replace some of the cleaning products I typically purchase with something I make myself. No difference in the way it cleans either!

I've explored the wetlands area in my community, and I can't believe people still eat fish from a creek! But I am in Alabama where there still is deer meat chili and squirrel soup. The locals know how to make any meat a meal, and that's sustainability!

Today we installed a second rain barrell to reduce water we use for hydrangeas on the south side of our house.

We are painting eggs today! We are using wooden eggs so that not only are we not using plastic eggs, we can reuse these for future Easter egg hunts!
