I volunteer at my Church's Celebrate Recovery as a leader and advocate for mental health and well-being. I shared lists of local Celebrate Recovery's in the area and lists of all of the closed groups to dive deeper into the step studies. CR is not just about a physical addiction. It can be for Co-Dependency, Lack of self-worth, Control or anger issues, Compulsive Over-eating, etc. It's great to watch people grow and completely turn their lives around when they really start trying to care for their mental health and well-being!

I now have a longer list than I would like to make follow-up appointments, but it's actually really nice to know I do not have any major health issues at the time being :)

I got to volunteer at the NAN Event at Fort Ancient where we were able to help plant over 50 new Butternut Squash plants! we also de-weeded at least 3-4 other Garden beds waiting for new crops to be buried. Planting Crops in the ancient protected land of our ancestors was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience to connect myself to the land of my people! <3

It's very cool to hear about the work being done within P&G to use recycled/reclaimed HDPE and HDPP materials as the raw material for our plastic based packaging. The purifying/extracting process for removing inks and other contaminants from the plastic polymers sounds like an interesting project and I hope the effort to produce enough material at scale goes well!

I just watched a video about Evergreen 100% Recycled Paper products that used to be sold at Target.. that was SHOCKING! People do not think about tall of the contaminates that can be found in recycled products! Watch the link I copied.. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18T9V3tkRo/

The Earth Day event at WHBC was today and I learned a lot! I thought the LastMile Food Rescue organization was very creative and serves a unique need in the community. They take good food from large organizations, farms, restaurants, and grocery stores that can't be used and redirect it to food pantries and communities in need, free of cost. It sounds like an amazing way to reduce food waste and help those in the Cincinnati area. Redirecting the food waste also reduces the carbon based materials in the local landfill that contribute to methane production, a win-win.

Yesterday I got some polyiso insulation board that was going to the landfill, but I will reuse this to insulate my wood shop

NHI has done a river clean-up event a couple of times over the last couple of years, but I know they connect with a larger P&G group who coordinate with a river clean up organization. It's somewhat this time of year if I recall, maybe June-ish. From what I've heard, it can be pretty impactful. I think some of the removed waste from the Ohio included full-size washers and dryers at one point, among other things.
