Yesterday I got an old bird bath and reused it for my bees so they have drinking water.

It is actually pretty hard to choose water smart foods. Meat, dairy, eggs, fruits all require a lot of water to grow. Interestingly, a lot of the plants that can grow in the midwest.. potatoes, asparagus, squashes etc are low water useage.

Two of my challenges are about spending time learning about indigenous conservation and biodiversity. Its been actually getting hard to come up with new things to learn about. So I have been getting extra into the weeds about these topics for Cincinnati and Kenya before my trip!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    What is resilience?
What personal strengths or supports helped you adapt to a past challenge? How might those same strengths help you in the future?

    Learning great things about resilience:

    Can resilience be taught?
Many factors that determine resilience—such as genetics, early life experiences, and luck—can’t be modified. But specific resilience-building skills can be learned. These include breaking out of negative thought cycles, pushing back against catastrophizing, and looking for upsides when faced with setbacks.

    Water
What did you discover about how climate change impacts water where you live? How did it change your perspective on resilience?

What I found most interesting about the water and climate change relationship is just how quickly one thing leads to another. Something I had never considered before is how rainwater and humidity contribute to the cooling effect in an atmosphere, and therefore in a drought or water-stripped region, atmospheric warning is quickly accelerated.
