To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate + Air Consume only Needs vs Wants
Consuming only what we need vs. what we want can be really hard to do. What has been challenging about committing to this action for a month? What have you learned about yourself? Will you change any habits going forward?

Went shopping this evening and it was eye opening when I asked myself if the items I was selecting were a need vs a want. Most were a want.

Planning meals has helped me to reduce food waste and will continue to do so after the challenge.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How did it feel to plan out your meals and stick to them in an effort to reduce food waste?

When all my children were at home, I made a weekly menu and stuck to it to reduce time, money and manage our meals according to our busy schedule. Now that the children are grown and gone, we waste a lot of food because I don't know how to cook for two. Making a menu again helped me to focus on buying food for two resulting in wasting less food. Will continue to make a weekly menu.

Leaving not trace when camping and hiking is something we've always practiced.

We planted 2 peach, 2 plum and 2 apple trees. It will be a few years before we are able to enjoy the fruits of our labor but looking forward it.

Today is not a very good looking Spring day in Ohio, but still hope to get out today for a walk. Will be a little brisk and crisp.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

My stop at the store only had a couple items. In this case they could be transported easily without a bag. I need to put a reusable bag in my care to use later this month.

I've been spending a lot of time at parks and in the woods. I try to leave no trace. Everyone should work on this.
