Earth Month 2025

Earth Month Challenge

We believe that a healthy future for our global community starts in our own backyard. That’s why we pursue groundbreaking science in an environmentally, economically and socially responsible way. Climate change has the potential to impact everyone’s health and wellbeing, and exacerbates many of the diseases we work to treat. We have set ambitious sustainability goals to reduce our global environmental footprint 50% by 2029, and achieve true zero emissions by 2050.

While planning a trip, I am always conscious of packing refillable water bottles, and we also pack food wherever possible so as to avoid buying food at places where there could be food wastage. It is important to be mindful of the destination, so you can pack reef-safe sunscreen. No matter what destination, I always have a reusable trash bag,...

How are things going for the start of the week, for everyone??

Its amazing to calculate the impact and then review where you make the most impact (because a lot of times it doesn't seem like that much). Our natural gas footprint in our home is fairly high, we've turned down the thermostat pretty low at night and during the day we keep it at 66.. I am turning it down 1 more degree to see if we can tolerate...

I emailed my representatives for Congress about blocking the sale of public lands. You should to!

There are so many cool ways to learn about native species! I found a guide online that shows all the wildflowers in a local park and it says whether they are native or introduced. I plan on going to a guided nature walk at that park so I can learn even more.

How is the Easter celebration going for everyone? We did not do anything special, just the usual run and invited a family for dinner tonight.

How was this weekend for everyone?

We started our day with running, but I ended up running quite a bit because my daughter wanted to explore more parks while she biked, so in the afternoon I had to nap! We went to our local downtown by walking for dinner and back, it was a great way to encourage the kids to save gas, and walk out more.

Bees are such an important part of our eco system! We buy honey from local farmers market. We have a hummingbird/bird feeder in our front yard, which has grains/nuts/seeds for the birds. Just like bees are, even hummingbirds are one of the pollinators.

How's Friday going for everyone? I made sure to use less water as possible. My daughter reminded that she does not need to keep the sink water running to wait until the hot water starts, she was fine with just freshening up in the morning with cold water!
