    Sustainable Innovation
What industries or sectors do you believe have the greatest potential to benefit from sustainable innovation, and how could they drive meaningful change? How do you think sustainable innovation will influence our future?

I believe transportation infrastructure, traffic safety, urban planning, and the development of smart cities and smart mobility solutions have the greatest potential to benefit from sustainable innovation and drive meaningful change.
Transportation infrastructure is the foundation of daily life, but when designed sustainably, it becomes much more a catalyst for safer, healthier, and more resilient communities. By embedding traffic safety into every design decision through adaptive traffic management, safer pedestrian zones, and vehicle to infrastructure communication. We not only reduce environmental impacts but also prioritize the protection of human life.
At the same time, urban planning and the rise of smart cities offer the chance to rethink the very layout of how we live and move. Instead of cities shaped around cars, sustainable urban design focuses on walkability, integrated public transport, micro-mobility options, and green spaces all enhanced by real-time data and AI-driven systems. Smart mobility including electric shared fleets, dynamic routing, and multimodal hubs can make movement cleaner, faster, and far more accessible for all.
In the future, sustainable innovation will reshape our cities from the ground up. Success won’t just be measured by GDP or infrastructure size, but by how well we reduce emissions, eliminate road deaths, enhance public health, and create inclusive, livable environments. True progress will be defined by how intelligently, safely, and sustainably we connect people to each other and to opportunity.

Visited Alserkal Avenue - Alserkal Initiatives is a socially responsible and forward-thinking arts and culture enterprise dedicated to developing homegrown initiatives, cultural production and events, while supporting creative minds and contemporary non-profit research. The Avenue hosts a community of over 70 contemporary art galleries, visual and performing arts organisations, designers, home-grown and entrepreneur-led businesses, and community spaces. I loved the pieces that explored the relationship between the environment / sustainability and social commentary - we can learn so much from one another.

    🌍 Did you know?
World Environment Day 2025 is just around the corner — celebrated every year on June 5th, it's the biggest international day for the environment!
This year’s theme is #BeatPlasticPollution — a powerful reminder that plastic waste is everywhere, even inside our bodies in the form of microplastics. It's time for collective action to tackle this crisis.
The Republic of Korea will be hosting this year’s global celebrations, bringing the world together to drive solutions for a plastic-free future. Let’s be part of the change🤝💚

    Read an interesting article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-solutions/2025/04/12/air-pollution-paris-health-cars/

Premise: In the last two years, Paris has transformed much of its roads and parking into green spaces, giving priority to people walking or cycling. Amongst other green measures, this has lead to big drops in fine particulate matter and nitrogen.

We recently visited the Serengeti National Park with our 4-year old daughter. It was an amazing experience about how endangered some of the most iconic animals are. Cheetahs and leopards in particular are becoming extremely rare. Less than 700 wild cheetahs and 300 leopards are left in an area of 30,000 square kilometers.
