Adien's actions
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 30 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Soil and Food
Learn How to Save Pollinators
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spend 15 minutes learning how to support local pollinators and take at least one action—such as planting native flowers or avoiding pesticides—to help sustain resilient ecosystems and harvests.
Soil and Food
Preserve or Store Food
Preserving food through freezing, drying, or fermenting helps food last longer, reduces waste, and ensures supplies during difficult times. I will preserve or store food during the challenge to strengthen household and community resilience.
Soil and Food
Grow Something to Eat
Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Community
Connect with Someone
Strong communities are built on connection and trust. I will reach out to 5 others—friends, colleagues, or neighbors—to check in, have a meaningful conversation, offer support, or to meet someone new near me.
Community
Attend a Local Event
Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 1 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.
Work and Organizations
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 1 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Water
Create My Own Water Action
Everyone’s water needs and use are different. I will create an action that works for my life and supports water resilience—and make my commitment public by sharing it in the feed to inspire others.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat natural features did you leave in place, and what wildlife do you think could benefit from them?
Adien Yniguez 4/06/2026 6:23 PMWhenever I clean up after my dog in my backyard I will a lot of times pick up any of the leaves and nuts that have landed back there, but this time I left them back there. I think that the nuts I typically pick up can benefit any birds or squirrels with food. My dog doesn't touch any of the leaves or nuts in our yard so it is no risk to him to leave them back there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you enjoy or learn from attending a local event in your community? How do local traditions and gatherings build resilience and strengthen your community’s identity?
Adien Yniguez 4/06/2026 6:17 PMI attended a local flee market. I enjoyed seeing all of the vendors and what they had to offer and saw how hard it might be for some of them who don't get a lot of sales, but they still are so positive and joyful to talk to. I think local gatherings build resilience because we see we are not alone in our community and there are lots of other people who share common interests with us. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow did reaching out strengthen your connection with friends, colleagues, or neighbors? In what ways do these personal connections build resilience in your community?
Adien Yniguez 4/06/2026 6:14 PMI had connected with someone I hadn't talked to in a while and knew was having a hard time. I was able to have a nice conversation with them about how life is going on both of our ends and we are talking a little more now. It was nice to connect with someone I don't typically talk to -
Adien Yniguez 4/03/2026 12:59 PMToday I showered in 8 minutes which is under the 10 minutes I had set for myself, I am really proud of and hope to continue this through the challenge and even after as well -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat personal action did you create, and why does it matter to you?
Adien Yniguez 4/03/2026 12:57 PMI created an action similar to one already given, "shower in 10 minutes or less." I know realistically for me the challenge to show in 5 minutes is too little for me to thoroughly clean my body and wash my hair, so I am still limiting my showers but in a more realistic time for me. -
Adien Yniguez 4/03/2026 12:37 PMToday I put my bread in the fridge so it can last longer, mine gets moldy too quickly in the cupboard -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat preservation method did you try, and how did it work for you? How can these practices help reduce waste and improve food security?
Adien Yniguez 4/03/2026 12:35 PMLast night I bought cookie dough and I typically store it just in the fridge but I realized it goes bad too fast when I do that so I am opting to preserve it in the freezer so it can last longer -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did improving your sleep affect your energy, focus, or mood? What role does rest play in helping you feel more balanced and capable of handling challenges?
Adien Yniguez 4/03/2026 12:28 PMI was able to get up without wanting to go back to bed in the morning and felt more rested and energized throughout the day
