Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 20 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Reduce Light Pollution
Too much artificial light can confuse and harm animals, especially those active at night. I will reduce sources of outdoor light or switch to wildlife-friendly fixtures to support healthy habitats.
Soil and Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 3 meatless meals meals each day.
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Community
Connect with Someone
Strong communities are built on connection and trust. I will reach out to 1 others—friends, colleagues, or neighbors—to check in, have a meaningful conversation, offer support, or to meet someone new near me.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat was the most rewarding part of bringing people together for a gathering? Did you experience any challenges in hosting, and if so, how did you overcome them?
Abigail Witt 4/05/2026 9:12 PMMy favorite part about hosting was the laughter that filled the room. Since I still live at home, my parents had friends over, along with my sibling. We enjoyed watching a couple of basketball games and playing some games. The most challenging part of all of this was our food order getting delivered to the wrong place, causing us to have to go get everything ourselves! -
Abigail Witt 4/05/2026 9:01 PMWith starting this challenge, and being almost a week in, I have noticed some differences in myself. I notice myself going about my day and being more aware of different things. Starting this challenge has helped me stay on track with goals, as well as learn some new things about Earth. Since this is just the beginning of the challenge, I hope to respond in a couple of weeks with more knowledge of Earth itself. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?
Abigail Witt 4/05/2026 8:56 PMI've started to realize that I am more aware of how much water I am using during the day. Noticing that has helped me become aware of how much water I am using, whether it's washing dishes, washing clothes, or taking a shower. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow did reaching out strengthen your connection with friends, colleagues, or neighbors? In what ways do these personal connections build resilience in your community?
Abigail Witt 4/05/2026 8:52 PMWith today being easter, I interacted with a lot of people whom I don't talk to on a day to day basis, so I enjoyed catching up with everyone. I left feeling happy, knowing I reconnected with people.-
rajat Prajapat 4/05/2026 8:55 PM- Plant-Based Foodie 🥬
Reaching out—through a simple message or small act of help—builds trust and makes relationships feel more genuine. It shows people they’re cared for, which strengthens bonds with friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat meal did you enjoy the most, and what alternatives did you try? Did anything surprise you about how satisfying plant-based options can be?
Abigail Witt 4/01/2026 4:53 PMI have tried a lot of different plant based foods! One thing that I have noticed is that it is difficult to find plant based foods that taste good. I had chickpea curry, which had a lot of flavor! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did improving your sleep affect your energy, focus, or mood? What role does rest play in helping you feel more balanced and capable of handling challenges?
Abigail Witt 4/01/2026 4:50 PMI realize that the more I prioritize sleep, the more energy I have during the day. I tend to take naps, but the more I sleep at night, the less I want to take a nap. It helps me to be more engaged and eager to complete tasks.
