I want to do better for my holistic growth and my society. I want a better world for me and my loved ones.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Education & Livelihood Host or Join a Cleanup Event
How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?

I was on my own. It was so depressing. How can we encourage adults to do better; I mean I have tried, I have seen others tried. I guess doing having events with rewards to encourage people to clean more, may help; start with schools, as well, as we can better influence kids who may influence their parents. I love this ecochallenge though, it was really inspirational.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health & Equity Watch a Documentary About Equity, Gender, Health, or Peace
What did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/15/2023 6:39 PM
It was depressing, eye-opening and educational as I have experienced before with these documentaries.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems Drive Less
How has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/15/2023 6:37 PM
I will a bicycle lane to encourage more people to ride as it will be safe for them to…; I rather there be less driving in the main towns as it is small enough for walking and causes less tension between drivers since the roads are narrow. It is not necessary for so many cars to be on the road in the main towns; there should be a safe parking space on the outskirts. I already drive less so as to save gas and causes I have enough in my plate.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Basic Needs & Security Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
What was the dish you made, and how did it turn out? What did it feel like to try a new recipe? If you can share a picture, please do!

I tried using tofu mixed with vegetables and couscous and fresh seasonings.

      Debbie Williams 4/12/2023 4:46 AM
It was delicious but I still have to learn how to dry the tofu properly so it can be cooked better.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Education & Livelihood Share Your Eco Habits
How do you create new sustainability-related habits or change bad habits?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/10/2023 10:01 AM
One of the things I have started doing is composting.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health & Equity Track My Purchases
How have you reduced your purchasing habits and what would you like to do next to reduce your consumption habits?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/10/2023 10:00 AM
I have already done this, as being chronically ill and unemployed, so dependent on my husband, has allowed us to analyze how to spend effectively.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Economy & Communities Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/10/2023 9:58 AM
I already do this, as I have learnt it's energy-efficient.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Economy & Communities Analyze Your Utility Bills
What was the most interesting thing you learned from analyzing your utility bill? What are some ways you can save energy and water?

    Debbie Williams's avatar
    Debbie Williams 4/10/2023 9:58 AM
I can save water--gosh, I have been trying for a while but it is to stay focus and remember-- by closing the tap while I brush my teeth; I can use a cup of water to ensure I don't waste. I should have a designated cup just for that.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate & Ecosystems Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

    Debbie Williams's avatar

I love nature so I often go for walks, jogs, or a drive... to help manage my mental illness and connect with nature. I try not to increase my carbon foot-print by having unnecessary drives.
