Save Water When Washing Dishes
Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.
Land, Water, and Air
Choose Eco-Friendly Wood and Paper Products
Trees provide food and habitat for local wildlife species, shade our streets and homes, and help keep our air and water clean by capturing pollutants. I will learn about certification labels and buy wood and paper products certified as sustainable or recycled to protect forests and reduce environmental harm.
Land, Water, and Air
Produce No Waste for a Day
The impacts of our waste are far reaching. I will create zero waste for an entire day and share my reflections and learnings on the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Replace a Product
Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 2 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.
Health and Well-Being
Audit Toxic Products in my Home
Many common products contain harmful chemicals. I will spend 2 minutes researching chemicals found in products I use, and I will make a list of products I'd like to replace with safer options.
Health and Well-Being
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
Environmental issues often impact marginalized communities the most. I will spend 2 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, who is affected by them, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Sustainable Innovation

Wildlife
Plant (or Adopt) a Plant
Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.

Indigenous communities have stewarded ecosystems for generations through deep-rooted knowledge and connection to nature. I will spend 10 minutes exploring Indigenous conservation methods and reflecting on their role in fostering balance and equity with nature.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 10 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Sustainable Innovation
Advocate For Better Food Packaging
When companies and governments make large-scale changes to their products and practices, it makes sustainability more accessible to the masses, in turn creating further demand for sustainable products, and the cycle continues. I will advocate for improved, sustainable food packaging through petitions, letters, or by supporting brands that prioritize eco-friendly packaging - and share my advocacy actions on the feed.
Wildlife
Learn to Grow Plants Your Way
Growing plants can be rewarding and can create habitats big and small for wildlife. And, we can grow things almost anywhere! I will spend 2 minutes researching options for growing plants either inside or outside.
Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.

Siddharth viswanathan 4/29/2025 10:23 PMIt’s going strong in small but meaningful ways. I’ve been consciously focusing on recycling, reusing materials, exploring renewable alternatives, and conserving water. These might seem like minor habits, but they’ve helped me build a more sustainable mindset. I’m learning that conservation isn’t just about grand gestures—it’s about the daily choices we make. Whether it's fixing a leaking tap, reusing packaging, or simply spreading awareness, I’m proud to be taking steps that align with the spirit of Earth Month -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you do to prepare for extreme weather events? Share any tips or resources you found helpful in the feed!
Siddharth viswanathan 4/29/2025 10:19 PMKeep trees and branches trimmed near your house. If you have time before severe weather hits, secure loose objects, close windows and doors, and move any valuable objects inside or under a sturdy structure. Help Your Neighbor: Encourage your loved ones to prepare for severe thunderstorms -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhere in your life do you emit the most carbon? What change are you willing to make in your daily life to reduce this output?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/17/2025 1:53 AMThe biggest carbon footprint in my life likely comes from transportation and energy use—especially car travel and electricity consumption. It’s easy to overlook how much carbon is tied to even small daily habits, like keeping lights or appliances on longer than needed, or driving short distances that could be walked or biked.A change I’m willing to make—and already started—is consolidating errands to reduce trips, using public transportation more, and switching to LED lights and energy-efficient appliances. I’ve also gotten into the habit of unplugging devices when not in use and being mindful of AC or heating use-

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWho is most affected by environmental degration or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected? What actions can you take to support those affected by these issues?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/17/2025 1:51 AMIn my community, it’s often the lower-income neighborhoods and daily wage workers who are most affected by environmental degradation. They usually live closer to polluted areas—like industrial zones or waste dumps—and have limited access to clean water, proper sanitation, or even safe housing. Children and the elderly in these areas are especially vulnerable to health problems caused by poor air quality and contaminated resources -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat surprised you most about the products you use in your home?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/17/2025 1:50 AMWhat surprised me most was how many everyday products had hidden chemicals or were made from non-recyclable materials—even the ones that looked eco-friendly at first glance. Things like cleaning sprays, air fresheners, or even some plastic containers seemed harmless but weren’t great for health or the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat product did you replace, and why was it important to you? How do you feel about making a small change for a healthier, more sustainable home?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/17/2025 1:49 AMI replaced the plastic comb with a Wooden reusable one. It felt like such a simple change, but it mattered a lot to me because I was becoming more conscious of the waste I was generating daily. Every time I refill it, I feel like I’m doing this small but meaningful thing for the planet—and for my health too, avoiding microplastics -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/17/2025 1:48 AMAfter completing it, I felt a strong sense of relief and accomplishment—like I was taking real ownership of my well-being. It was empowering, honestly, like a small but solid step toward self-care. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat was hard about having a Zero Waste Day? What did you learn about yourself and your habits?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat benefits do forests offer you personally? What certifications or labels will you look for when purchasing wood and paper products, and why?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/07/2025 1:37 AMFPC certified forest products are verified from what source through the supply chain -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirHow did changing your dishwashing habits make you more mindful of water use? What other small changes can you make to conserve water in your household?
Siddharth viswanathan 4/07/2025 1:37 AMBy avoiding rinsing the plates under the tap before placing them in the dishwasher or by using a dishwasher pre-rinse program.-
