Wildlife

Use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.

Spent some time birdwatching and got to see two bald eagles!! They flew right over us, but by the time I got my camera phone up, they were so far away. Still, it was incredible to see them in the wild, but so close!!!

How did it feel to plant something, and what kind of gardening did you do (indoors, hydroponic, outside in a garden, etc)? What did you plant and where? Feel free to share a photo to the feed!

I started a vegetable garden in my indoor greenhouse. Once the risk of a frost passes, I will harden the plants and transplant them outdoors. This is my third year of starting my plants indoors. I feel so accomplished later in the summer when my family and I are able to harvest from my efforts. It feels good to grow our own food which tastes better and we know it origins.

I spent some time in my garden this weekend cleaning up old plants, weeding, and mulching. It was a treat for me to get outside while we had decent weather and it was a treat for my plants that got some compost tea fresh from our mulcher!
