Klara Varga
"I believe that changes can be generated by simple individual actions. My first goal in my personal life is to keep my ecological footprint as small as possible by minimizing my water and energy usage, eating only plant-based food, buying clothes in second-hand shops, mostly travelling by public transportation or by bus, etc. If everybody just makes some small changes, our whole world can be a different place to live."

Klara Varga 4/28/2023 4:23 AMThe golden message: it is up to the consumer how many factory farm stand still (and we know what horrors factory farms hold). It does matter what we choose... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Watch a Documentary About Food, Water, or Basic NeedsWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Klara Varga 4/27/2023 1:47 PMI watched a DW Documentary: Food security- A growing dilemma. I learnt about algae farming and vertical plant growing and how farmers are trying to switch to more proteinful vegetables which idea I praise. Some of the solutions seemed wild though, but at least people are starting to take the climate change more seriously. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Attend Emerson's Global Earth Week WebinarWhat did you learn during the webinar?
Klara Varga 4/19/2023 6:54 AMI am happy to see so many people involved. It motivates me a lot. I learnt that everyone could do something no matter the background or anything. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & Livelihood Host or Join a Cleanup EventHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Klara Varga 4/19/2023 6:49 AMIt is a fantastic way of bonding while doing good and spending time outside. -

Klara Varga 4/15/2023 11:14 AMHi, instead of overscented fabric softener I use vinegar. The scent of it goes away while my clothing is drying. I find it quite a good solution. And since my smelling buds aren't overwhelmed all the time, my smelling is getting pretty sharp :D -

Klara Varga 4/12/2023 6:20 AMHi, so, instead of a sponge you can also use your worn-out T-shirt for washing your dishes. Of course you have to cut it into smaller pieces first... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Mend ClothingWhat was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?
Klara Varga 4/11/2023 12:29 PMI am not that skilled but I really love mending my things - including my clothes. Usually I can manage if there is hole in my shirt or the legs of my trousers are too long. I have a sewing machine, however, I can sew by hand as well. Sometimes I cover up tiny holes in my shirt by sewing beads into them.
