Personal

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 15 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

DAILY ACTIONS

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Remove Invasive Species

Removing invasive species (species that are not naturally found in my area and can outcompete native plants) can help beautify nature around me and protect local biodiversity. I will learn about invasive plants in my area and, if possible, support or participate in at least one effort to beautify nature near me by removing invasive species.

The honeysuckle bush leaves out sooner than native bushes do, and so they shade out the forest floor during the time when the Spring ephemerals are growing and blooming, cutting out needed light.

When I lived in Indiana, I experienced firsthand how dominant the honeysuckle is. Here in MN, Buckthorn does the same thing. They absolutely dominate the underbrush and can grow quite tall for woody shrubs! many people mistake them for small trees.

I joined Ecochlange be cause I'm concerned about the climate change I'm seeing all around me. I'm hoping to do my part to help reduce my impact, and encourage others to do the same.
