Take the Pre-Survey

Take the Pre-Event Survey

I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Personal

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 90 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

COMPLETED 5
DAILY ACTIONS

Personal

Meditate

Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 15 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.

COMPLETED 3
DAILY ACTIONS

Water

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

What is resilience?

Explore Resilience in Nature

Resilience is all around us in the natural world. I will spend 30 minutes outdoors looking for examples of resilience—such as plants regrowing, animals adapting, or seasonal cycles—and reflect on what they teach about thriving through change.

COMPLETED 2
DAILY ACTIONS

Soil and Food

Eat Local and Seasonal Foods

Local and seasonal foods require fewer resources, support nearby farmers, and keep soils healthier through diverse planting. I will source 2 meals per week from local or seasonal producers—such as markets, CSAs, or co-ops—to strengthen community food resilience.

COMPLETED 4
DAILY ACTIONS

Personal

Go Get a Check Up

Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Water

Take Shorter Showers

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

COMPLETED 6
DAILY ACTIONS

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Choose Native Plants

Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Speak Up for Wildlife Protection

Wildlife needs support from people. I will take 3 actions, such as volunteering, signing petitions, contacting leaders, or sharing information on social media, to help protect habitats and species.

A big thing for me is leaving the water running to warm up too long. Today I sat in the bathroom and held my hand under the water while it warmed up, and it was surprisingly quick! I don't know why I haven't done that in a while, my last house took forever and we used to collect the water in a bucket, but this house I have been too lax. Sometimes I like to just take some time in the shower to steam and decompress, but when I limit myself to 5-10 minutes I can still clean thoroughly. I should go back to collecting the "warm up" water from my shower and kitchen sink and use it to water plants outside, that's what we used to do when I lived in southern CA because we were in a perpetual drought. I think I really needed this reality check/ check in/ accountability to actually do the thing.

Today was definitely a "catch up on sleep" day, it was much needed after this week. I am usually cautious to not oversleep, because it will leave me more fatigued and brain-foggy than if I had underslept, and today I woke up feeling ready to go. I have been focusing more on falling asleep earlier so that I can keep my morning routine, and it has been easier to get up out of bed and feel awake as I'm waking up if that makes sense.
