Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat was the most unexpected piece of trash that was picked up during your local cleanup effort? How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Jillian Taylor 4/22/2025 9:37 AMWe were unable to clean up the full area that we originally intended, but it was a good effort and we ended up with a few garbage bags filled. The most unexpected piece of trash would either be a feminine hygiene product or the bra on the road. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Jillian Taylor 4/17/2025 5:33 PMI’ve had to go for skin checks since my family has had many cells needing to be removed. I have had two removed but the last two checkups have been clear. Skin cancer screening is important and if it runs in your family I found it is better to catch it early. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you do to prepare for extreme weather events? Share any tips or resources you found helpful in the feed!
Jillian Taylor 4/13/2025 4:49 PMMy grandmother always suggested keeping my cupboards stocked but rotating through the food. This year we tried to prepare for the heat more by finding ways like door stoppers so it works to maintain the efficiency of the house. We also added emergency battery chargers that we can use in power outages.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeAre you a gardener or house plant lover? Why or why not? What do you need to elevate your plant care skills?
Jillian Taylor 4/07/2025 6:03 PMI try gardening but am rarely successful. Partly due to over or under watering. I am trying to trust my first instinct with water and not add more just since I doubt myself. I just started seeds so we will see how they do.-

Good luck. I find that i can grow houseplants, but nothing edible. My green thumb is selective.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?
Jillian Taylor 4/04/2025 4:39 PMI’m trying to get more sleep by actually falling asleep quicker when I climb into bed rather than lay awake. I have found the stretching from the research I’ve done for stress and calming has helped. Unfortunately last night I couldn’t get to bed early enough but tonight I will. -
Jillian Taylor 4/04/2025 5:50 AMI didn't get the extra sleep last night, but I'm hoping that since tomorrow is the weekend I might be able to get some more sleep there. I am maintaining a new habit of stretching before bed, though, which has helped me fall asleep quicker. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeWhat is one way you can reduce your impact on nature the next time you spend time outdoors, and how might that action help preserve the environment for others?
Jillian Taylor 4/03/2025 4:20 PMI can pay more attention to where people have trod before and keep there instead of sometimes going off to find a good place to sit or rest. This will keep more of nature preserved and help keep others from following in my footsteps off the trail. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat resource or strategy stood out to you the most, and how might it help in managing anxiety?
Jillian Taylor 4/02/2025 4:48 PMI’m utilizing the mixture of stretching and mindful breathing with my early bedtime tonight to lower stress and promote sleep.-

I usually use (5-4-3-2-1 Method)
Breathe and look around
5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
It takes time to train our mind, but once you do its really helpfull

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat surprised you most about your water footprint, and how did it influence your perspective on water use? What changes can you make to reduce your water consumption, and how will these impact your daily routine?
Jillian Taylor 4/01/2025 5:52 AMHighest consumption for water for me was diet and my cat's food as well. It was surprising how much water goes into cat food (as I already knew meat eaters tend to have more virtual water consumption).
