Health and Well-Being
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 20 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Health and Well-Being
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Community and Connection
Explore My Area
Discovering what’s nearby fosters a deeper connection to my community. I will explore 3 new places in my area, such as parks, historical sites, or local businesses.
Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 30 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Land, Water, and Air
Reduce Food Waste
Wasting food also wastes water, energy, and resources. I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation, and commit to reducing my food waste throughout the challenge.
Community and Connection
Attend a Local Event
Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 2 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingHow did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?
Viktoria Tadlock 4/03/2025 10:06 AMExercising has been a huge boost to my mental health. I'm particularly fond of yoga because it has a meditative component that really helps me focus on the experience of the movements in the moment rather than focusing on results or anything else. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Viktoria Tadlock 4/03/2025 10:05 AM- Book Lover 📚
This challenge was pretty easy for me. I have this travel sized resuable bag my sister gave me. I added it as a keychain to my keys, so now the reusable bag is with me everywhere I go. It's come in handy multiple times. This was an easy and small, yet very powerful way to affect sustainable change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? Did you find it easy or challenging to meditate?
Viktoria Tadlock 4/03/2025 10:03 AM- Book Lover 📚
I always feel more grounded after I meditate. I use meditation to clear away all the worries and stresses I'm facing at the moment. This also happens to be my biggest challenge while meditating: I have issues letting my thoughts go. That's something that will only improve with practice, I guess!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money? What patterns did you notice in the food you threw away, and how can you address them?
Viktoria Tadlock 4/03/2025 10:01 AM- Book Lover 📚
Instead of wasting money on food that I throw out for one reason or another, I could instead use that money to travel. Today I had to throw out some leftovers that were over a week old. I had been away for that time, which is why I was unable to eat it. Usually, my food waste is the result of my overambition; I plan to eat it, but I never do. Instead, I end up eating something else. The way I want to overcome this is by better meal planning, which is what I'll be working on over the course of this challenge.
