Learn About Water Resilience

Resilience in water systems means being able to adapt, recover, and thrive through change. I will spend 10 minutes learning how people and communities build water resilience and reflect on how I can apply this knowledge.

COMPLETED 1
DAILY ACTION

Water

Collect Rain Water

Rainwater collection reduces water waste and supports local needs. I will install a rain barrel or collect rainwater to use for outdoor tasks, such as watering plants or cleaning.

Learn to Recycle Water at Home

Greywater—or lightly used household water—can sometimes be reused for tasks like watering plants or cleaning. I will learn about safe and practical ways to recycle greywater at home, school, or work.

Learn About Water Justice

Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet many communities worldwide lack it. I will spend 10 minutes learning about water justice issues and who is most affected, and share one insight in the feed.

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

Speak Up for Water Solutions

Communities need strong voices for water resilience. I will speak up 3 times by signing petitions, contacting leaders, or sharing information about protecting water resources.

Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants

Mulching helps soil hold water and reduces runoff. I will mulch the base of trees or other plants at home, school, or in my community to improve water retention and soil health.

This eye opening video on Youtube taught me how scarce fresh water really is. It showed communities around the world who value important bodies of water in the area that they have worked so hard to protect. The video mentioned wildlife and water quality and was very enlightening.
