Health and Well-Being

Meditate

Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.

DAILY ACTIONS

Wildlife

Donate to Support Wildlife

There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.

ONE-TIME ACTION

Health and Well-Being

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 120 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

DAILY ACTIONS

Health and Well-Being

Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes

Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Land, Water, and Air

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

DAILY ACTIONS

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 60 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

Usually before meditating I'm stressed out or overwhelmed and that's why I decide to meditate that time during that day, and after I'm feeling more calm and chilled out which is kind of like a magic trick because I've had trouble calming myself down when I'm overwhelmed my whole life. Therefore, I find it easy to meditate because I know I will feel better afterwards.

I like how you mentioned that you know when a good time for you to meditate is and that it works like magic. I think this is a great way to explain it to people who may be curious about it but don't really understand it.

I joined this challenge because it was mandatory for a class, but I ended up really liking it and thought it helped me with a lot of different things. I've been trying to sleep more, which has been going decent, but the biggest thing that has helped me is meditation and exercise. I've been able to stay consistent with those because I can see the benefits in my life and mental health.

I have actually really enjoyed it as well. I chose exercise as one of my actions as well. I find myself making a habit out of it and automatically grabbing my dog and going for a walk as soon as I get home from work. It feels great to get outside, moving around, and clearing my head.
