REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingHow did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?
Matt Rutlin 4/30/2025 6:56 AMEven on my most lazy of days (which, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy being lazy), having exercised gives me a sense that I've accomplished something and done something good for myself. My favorite activity is definitely going running. It gets me outside and lets me exercise while spending time with my dog. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you observe or experience while spending time outside, and how did it affect you? How does connecting with nature enhance your physical and mental well-being?
Matt Rutlin 4/21/2025 1:09 PMFor the first time in quite a while, I spent most of the day outside working in the yard. While I wouldn't say I love doing yardwork, being outside for that long, with my dog and enjoying some time with my neighbors not only helped my overall mood but it left me with a sense of accomplishement. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?
Matt Rutlin 4/14/2025 2:07 PMI wouldn't say I was addicted to sugar, but I definitely enjoyed a lot of treats that contain a lot of sugar. I think the most challenging part from me is the routine associated with removing it for me. I'd typically have sugary treats later in the evenings while relaxing and it's always difficult to change up routines, especially when they taste that good! I overcame it by staying busier during that time and starting a new routine. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationHow did replacing old bulbs with LED bulbs make you feel about reducing your energy consumption? What other small energy-saving actions could you take to reduce your environmental impact?
Matt Rutlin 4/08/2025 4:59 PMI didn’t realize how many non-LED bulbs I was still using in my house. It felt good to go through all of my lights, make an easy swap and know I was making a very small albeit positive action -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?
Matt Rutlin 4/08/2025 4:57 PMI tend to get less than 7 hours of sleep regularly which results in me feeling both tired and groggy in the mornings as well as at the end of many days. By prioritizing getting to sleep earlier, I believe I can improve both my physical and mental well being
