    Meaningful carbon reduction—not just offsets:
Offsetting has its place, but it’s often overused as a shortcut. Companies should prioritize cutting emissions directly through renewable energy, efficiency, and cleaner logistics. Initiatives like RE100 push firms toward 100% renewable electricity, which is a solid step in the right direction.

RE100’s mission is to drive corporate demand for renewable power at scale. Member companies publicly commit to matching all electricity used in their global operations with renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, or biomass by 2050. By pooling commitments, RE100 signals market confidence and encourages investment and policy frameworks that expand clean-energy supply.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Biodiversity and Wildlife
What project or organization did you choose to support, and why did it resonate with you? What are some ways you can continue to support wildlife conservation beyond financial contributions?

    Make everyday choices count
Consumption habits have a big ripple effect. Choosing sustainably sourced products (like FSC-certified wood or responsibly caught seafood) reduces pressure on ecosystems. Even reducing single-use plastics helps protect marine life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal
Were you able to easily locate the nearest AED/Emergency Kit at the Donaldson facility where you work?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/19/2026 9:42 PM
Yes, the nearest AED and emergency kit were relatively easy to locate within the facility. Clear signage and designated safety areas made it straightforward to identify where the equipment was stored. This highlights the importance of proper labeling and accessibility in emergency preparedness.

    Emergency kit (go-bag):
    • Water (at least 3 days)
    • Non-perishable food
    • Flashlight + extra batteries
    • Power bank for your phone
    • Basic first aid kit
    • Copies of important documents
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Soil and Food
What did you decide to grow, and how did it feel to start (or care for) your plants? What connections did it give you to soil or food resilience?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 4:04 AM
Growing even a small amount of your own food builds awareness of what it actually takes to produce it:
    • Time and care → food doesn’t just appear; it requires consistent input
    • Vulnerability → weather, pests, and soil conditions all matter
    • Value → you’re less likely to waste something you’ve grown yourself
It also introduces a level of self-reliance, even if small. Herbs on a windowsill or a few vegetables in a garden won’t replace grocery shopping, but they:
    • reduce dependence on supply chains (even slightly)
    • provide fresh, accessible food
    • build skills that can scale if needed
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Biodiversity and Wildlife
What lights did you reduce or change, and how might this help wildlife near you?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 4:02 AM
Choose warm-colored LEDs (around 2700K or lower) instead of cool white
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Work and Organizations
How does being part of a green team strengthen collaboration? What role can green teams play in building organizational resilience?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 2:29 AM
    Risk awareness and preparedness
Green teams often identify risks early—like overreliance on certain resources or wasteful processes—and push for smarter alternatives.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Work and Organizations
What did you learn from your audit, and what steps did you take to reduce waste? How can reducing waste create both environmental and organizational benefits?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 2:27 AM
Switching to reusables: replacing single-use items (bottles, containers, bags) with durable alternatives
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
How did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 2:26 AM
    Fix leaks promptly
A dripping tap or running toilet can waste large volumes over time, even if it seems minor.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Work and Organizations
What success did you celebrate, and how did it impact your team’s morale? How can celebrating together help prepare us for future challenges?

    Rahul Roy's avatar
    Rahul Roy 4/16/2026 2:25 AM
Celebrating together also has a practical benefit: it reinforces what worked. Instead of moving on immediately, the team remembers the behaviors and decisions that led to success. That makes it easier to repeat—or adapt—them in future situations.
