    What did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? How might mindfulness or calmness support your well-being day to day?

    At the beginning of the meditation, I had a hard time clearing my thoughts and felt mentally restless. It took some time for my mind to settle, but as the meditation went on, I noticed my body relaxing and my thoughts slowing down. Toward the end, I almost felt like I had fallen asleep, which made me realize just how tense or mentally busy I had been beforehand. This experience showed me that even when it’s difficult to quiet my mind at first, mindfulness can gradually bring a sense of calm. Carrying that calmness into daily life could help me feel more grounded, reduce stress, and approach situations with greater patience and clarity.

    We enjoyed attending our local lower-level hockey team game because we’re starting to learn the players’ names, I’m learning the rules of the sport, and it’s been a fun way to connect with the team. Local traditions and gatherings like this build resilience and strengthen community identity by bringing people together regularly and giving us shared experiences, including exploring nearby restaurants and supporting something local.

    Attending my first group meeting helped me feel more connected and less isolated after moving to a new city, especially since working from home has made meeting people challenging. Belonging to a group helps people face challenges more effectively because shared experiences, support, and encouragement remind you that you’re not alone.
