I performed a detailed personal audit of my internal energy consumption at home: Once I determined my average consumption I will start the first step which is to eliminate those that are not relevant and easy to eliminate, for example a wine cooler that we don't use anymore but was still connected. Second stage is to use technology for lighting based on presence or to adjust the brightness levels of open areas based on proportional dimming, I know it sounds complex, but it really isn't and it's economical to do - and finally define a maximum consumption goal and check it against my bills to make sure it is improving.
