Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

Swap and Share with Others

Swapping and sharing resources reduces waste and builds community bonds. I will participate in 3 swaps or sharing activities, like borrowing items, attending or hosting a swap meet, or giving away items I no longer need to support a sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.

I was tempted by chocolate brownies last night (the unhealthy kind!) but remembered my challenge to reduce refined sugar intake; so, I opted for delicious blueberries with yogurt instead. Yummy!

Will power goes a long way! You could have had some squares of very dark chocolate. That usually doesn't have much sugar :)

How did you participate in the sharing economy? (Consider posting a photo!) What are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?

I contributed a bag full of used children's books to a neighbour's book swap "house" in my neighbourhood. I hope neighbours will enjoy the books!

That's a great idea! Book swaps should be more commonplace.
