Community
Join a Group
Belonging to a group can help build friendships and a sense of purpose. I will explore online or in-person groups or clubs that share my interests or goals and join a group to connect with others.
What is resilience?
Share a Resilience Story
Stories connect and inspire us. I will share 1 resilience stories—either from my life, my community, or from a leader or culture I admire—through conversations, social media, or the event feed to help others see resilience in action.
Community
Offer a Skill or Service
Sharing our talents can benefit those around us. I will offer my skills or services that contribute to local self-sufficiency, such as teaching a repair skill or helping with a neighbor's garden.
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Personal
Explore Resources for Managing Anxiety
Anxiety can be overwhelming, but resources and strategies can help. I will spend 10 minutes exploring resources that help manage anxiety and stress to support my mental and psychological well being.
Community
Swap and Share with Others
Swapping and sharing resources reduces waste and builds community bonds. I will participate in 2 swaps or sharing activities, like borrowing items, attending or hosting a swap meet, or giving away items I no longer need to support a sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.
Action Track
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 2 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Action Track
Participate in a Habitat Restoration Project
Healthy habitats support resilient wildlife populations. I will join 2 restoration efforts, such as planting native plants, cleaning a natural area, or repairing trails to protect biodiversity.
Action Track
Take Part in a Community Beautification Project
Working together builds resilience and pride in the places we care about. I will participate in 1 community projects such as a cleanup or local beautification project that strengthens connections and shared purpose.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Work and Organizations
Join or Start a Green Team
Green teams strengthen resilience by creating shared responsibility. I will join or help start a green team in my workplace, school, or community group to support sustainability and collaboration.
Water
Create My Own Water Action
Everyone’s water needs and use are different. I will create an action that works for my life and supports water resilience—and make my commitment public by sharing it in the feed to inspire others.
Soil and Food
Grow Something to Eat
Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.
Personal
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Reduce Light Pollution
Too much artificial light can confuse and harm animals, especially those active at night. I will reduce sources of outdoor light or switch to wildlife-friendly fixtures to support healthy habitats.
What is resilience?
Share a Definition of Resilience
Sharing builds common understanding. I will share 1 definitions of resilience that resonate with me—through conversations, social media, or the event feed—to help others explore what resilience means.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Speak Up for Wildlife Protection
Wildlife needs support from people. I will take 1 actions, such as volunteering, signing petitions, contacting leaders, or sharing information on social media, to help protect habitats and species.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Choose Native Plants
Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.
Water
Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Mulching helps soil hold water and reduces runoff. I will mulch the base of trees or other plants at home, school, or in my community to improve water retention and soil health.
Personal
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Soil and Food
Learn How to Save Pollinators
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spend 1 minutes learning how to support local pollinators and take at least one action—such as planting native flowers or avoiding pesticides—to help sustain resilient ecosystems and harvests.
What is resilience?
Notice Resilience Around Me
Resilience shows up in many places. I will look for one example of resilience in my surroundings—whether in my community, work, or daily life—and reflect on what it teaches me about adapting to change.
What is resilience?
Reflect on My Own Resilience
Resilience is personal and collective. I will reflect on a time when I adapted to change in my own life, writing down what helped me and what I learned from the experience.
What is resilience?
Learn About Biodiversity and Resilience
Diversity builds strength in ecosystems. I will spend 10 minutes learning how biodiversity helps nature adapt to change and maintain balance.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWork and OrganizationsHow does being part of a green team strengthen collaboration? What role can green teams play in building organizational resilience?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:03 AMhared purpose: Everyone is working toward the same environmental goals, which reduces friction and aligns effort.Cross-team connection: Green teams often include people from different departments, which breaks down silos and improves communication.Active problem-solving: Members regularly brainstorm, test ideas, and adjust plans together, which builds trust and creativity.Visible impact: Seeing real results (less waste, greener spaces, lower energy use) reinforces teamwork and motivation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What story did you share, and how did it feel to share it? Did telling or hearing resilience stories shift how you think about strength and adaptability?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:03 AM- Adventurer 🏔
Starting a small community garden that struggled at first because of poor soil or lack of participationGradually improving it by adding compost, planting native species, and involving neighboursEventually seeing it become a shared green space that supports pollinators, food growing, and social connection -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What definition of resilience did you choose to share, and why? How did others respond to it, and did it spark any new insights for you?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:03 AM- Adventurer 🏔
Resilience is the ability of a system—whether a person, community, or ecosystem—to absorb shocks, adapt to change, and continue functioning without losing its core structure or purpose. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you notice about how mulching helps the soil and plants? How does this small action connect to bigger ideas of water resilience?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:02 AM- Adventurer 🏔
Soil stays moist for longer because the mulch slows down evaporationTemperature becomes more stable, so roots aren’t stressed by heat or cold swingsWeeds reduce, meaning plants don’t have to compete as much for nutrients and waterSoil becomes richer over time as organic mulch breaks down and feeds microbes and wormsPlants often look healthier and more consistent in growth, especially during dry periods-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat personal action did you create, and why does it matter to you?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:02 AM- Adventurer 🏔
Setting up a small, consistent environmental habit or community contribution—something like starting a balcony herb garden, reducing single-use plastics, or joining a local clean-up group. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat did you decide to grow, and how did it feel to start (or care for) your plants? What connections did it give you to soil or food resilience?
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:01 AM- Adventurer 🏔
Easy to care for (mint, basil, coriander)Useful in cooking or daily life (herbs and chillies)Supportive of biodiversity (marigold, tulsi, sunflowers) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat did you learn about the role of pollinators in food systems? Did you take any action to support pollinators? If so, share a picture in the feed!
Krishna Reddy 4/30/2026 6:00 AM- Adventurer 🏔
A key insight is that pollinators don’t just support “wild nature”—they directly support human food production and biodiversity. Crops like apples, tomatoes, almonds, cucumbers, and many others depend on or benefit from pollination. In fact, a large portion of global food production relies at least partly on animal pollination. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat did you do to prepare for extreme weather events? Did being more prepared improve your peace of mind or make you feel more prepared to help others? Share any tips or resources you found helpful in the feed!
