Coursera

"I just stumbled upon this meeting and I am so glad I did, because it was exactly the push I needed to rethink my daily habits. This April, my mission is to hit the reset button and actively change how I show up for myself and my community. By stepping away from refined sugar, dedicating time to daily movement, and grounding my mind through meditation and a resilience journal, I am committing to building my inner strength. From that grounded place, I want to reach out and build genuine connections with those around me. This month is about transforming my routine so I can truly thrive from the inside out"

I didn’t do anything very structured, but I realized I’ve been sharing small things more often without really thinking about it. Like helping around at home, sharing food, or even just giving things I don’t use anymore to someone who needs them.
It made me realize that sharing doesn’t always have to be a big effort. Even small things create a sense of connection and trust.
I think that’s where resilience comes in, when people are used to sharing and helping each other, it becomes easier to rely on that support when things are difficult. It feels less individual and more like something you’re part of.

Shivangi, I love this post, especially the part I resonated with, "that’s where resilience comes in, when people are used to sharing and helping each other, it becomes easier to rely on that support when things are difficult." It is a testament to showing up often even if its in little consistent ways!

Living in Bhopal, extreme weather for us usually means sudden heavy rains or long, intense heat spells. I didn’t do anything big, but I’ve started being a bit more prepared in small ways, like keeping extra water stored and paying attention to things around the house and balcony.
Earlier, I wouldn’t really think about this at all. Now even these small steps make me feel a bit more in control and less reactive if something unexpected happens.
It also made me realize that being prepared isn’t just for yourself. When you’re a little more ready, it’s easier to help others around you too, even in simple ways.

Coming back today after missing yesterday, trying not to overthink it.
Also been thinking about something a bit more personal lately. I’ve been trying to get back into a healthier routine and lose some weight in a sustainable way.
I did manage to lose quite a bit last year, but slowly gained it back. These days even with small habits like walking and journaling, I don’t feel like I’m making progress, which has been a bit frustrating.
Would genuinely appreciate if anyone here has found something that worked for them long term, especially in terms of consistency. Not looking for anything extreme, just something that actually sticks.

Hi Shivangi, I am also looking into sustainable habits on this front. I just recently started trying intermittent fasting which many folks say can be helpful if done thoughtfully. Might be worth doing some research to see if the idea resonates with you at all.

Heres something that's helped me. exercise is very important. I'm not an exercise sports scientist or anything, but there a lot of studies suggesting that intensity can help compensate for time in workouts. Maybe you don't have a full hour to work out but do a more intense 30-minute workout to compensate. Again, exercise is key, nutrition cannot help you if the exercise is not there and vice versa. Tell yourself and plan for two weeks of consistency, the gratification and investment you feel afterwards will help drive you to the next workout. Good luck with your health and remember that weight alone is not an indicator of poor health.

What was the most rewarding part of bringing people together for a gathering? Did you experience any challenges in hosting, and if so, how did you overcome them?

I’ve planned to host a small gathering in end week of May with my high school friends. Some of them I haven’t met in almost 4 years now, so it already feels a bit special thinking about it.
I think the most rewarding part will simply be bringing everyone together again, especially now that we’re all adults and doing our own things. It feels nice to create a moment where people can reconnect and just spend time without overthinking it.
I’m sure there will be small challenges around planning and coordinating everyone’s schedules, but I’m trying to keep it simple and not overplan too much. I feel like that will make it more relaxed and enjoyable.
In a way, it already feels like something to look forward to, and that sense of connection is probably the best part.

I chose to support Prakriti Shelter, an NGO in my city.
This felt personal because some time ago I found a few puppies in my neighbourhood who were very weak and malnourished. I used to feed them whatever I could, but they clearly needed proper care. I reached out to this NGO, and they showed up within 30 minutes and took them in. Now they’re healthy, active, and all adopted, which really stayed with me.
That’s why I decided to donate to them.
Beyond financial support, I think just being involved matters more. I’m planning to volunteer with them twice a month starting May, and even small things like helping animals around you or reaching out when needed can make a difference.

I love how, after being confronted with the problem of abandoned puppies, you followed through by connecting with the Prakriti Shelter. Thank you for the financial support and I hope you do volunteer with them. I have found my volunteer work with an animal rescue most rewarding, and it puts you in touch with others who share your care for animals.

I created a small habit around just being a bit more mindful with water during the day.
Nothing major, just things like turning off the tap when I don’t need it or reusing water for plants at home. It’s basic stuff, but I wasn’t really paying attention to it before.
One thing that also stood out to me recently is how even things we don’t see directly, like the energy and water used behind AI and tech, still connect back to resource use. It made me think about how everything adds up in ways we don’t always notice.
It’s not perfect and I still forget sometimes, but at least I’m noticing it now, and that feels like a start.

For a moment it felt like I had broken the streak, but then it also made me think that this was never about being perfect every single day. It is more about coming back without overthinking it.
So here again today, just continuing :)

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Biodiversity and Wildlife
Why is raising your voice important for resilience, and how can public support strengthen protections for wildlife?

    Shivangi Priya's avatar
    Shivangi Priya 4/23/2026 7:43 AM
    • Foodie 🍱
I think raising your voice matters because it turns awareness into something visible. A lot of issues around wildlife go unnoticed unless people talk about them or bring attention to them.
Public support makes a difference because when more people care, it creates pressure for better protection and policies. Even small conversations or sharing information can slowly build that awareness.

My activity was simple, growing and taking care of plants at home.
Even though it’s small, it made me realize how important regular care and attention are for growth. It connects to resilience because healthier plants support soil, use water more efficiently, and contribute to a more balanced environment over time.
