Alison's actions
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Choose Native Plants
Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.
Action Track
Participate in a Habitat Restoration Project
Healthy habitats support resilient wildlife populations. I will join 1 restoration efforts, such as planting native plants, cleaning a natural area, or repairing trails to protect biodiversity.
Personal
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Personal
Explore Resources for Managing Anxiety
Anxiety can be overwhelming, but resources and strategies can help. I will spend 60 minutes exploring resources that help manage anxiety and stress to support my mental and psychological well being.
Community
Swap and Share with Others
Swapping and sharing resources reduces waste and builds community bonds. I will participate in 2 swaps or sharing activities, like borrowing items, attending or hosting a swap meet, or giving away items I no longer need to support a sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Action Track
Take Part in a Community Beautification Project
Working together builds resilience and pride in the places we care about. I will participate in 1 community projects such as a cleanup or local beautification project that strengthens connections and shared purpose.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Soil and Food
Grow Something to Eat
Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.
Community
Express Gratitude and Random Acts of Kindness
Small acts of kindness and gratitude can brighten someone's day and create a positive ripple effect. I will express gratitude to 5 people or perform 5 random acts of kindness to spread joy and connection.
Work and Organizations
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 1 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Soil and Food
Learn How to Save Pollinators
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spend 15 minutes learning how to support local pollinators and take at least one action—such as planting native flowers or avoiding pesticides—to help sustain resilient ecosystems and harvests.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction TrackWhat community activity did you join, and how did it make you feel connected to others? How do projects like this strengthen your community over time?
Alison Perreault 4/30/2026 4:33 PMI joined in on volunteering at a local farm. Getting ready for the season. It was great to learn more about the positive impact on the community as well as the history of the farm and the impact that it has had for 100's of years. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?
Alison Perreault 4/30/2026 4:32 PMI walked outside a lot this month, including when traveling for work. I also did reformer pilates (my favorite) and a strength training workout with friends. I need more strength training for sure.-
Isabella Nikazy 4/30/2026 5:15 PM- Climate Advocate 🌱

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat resource or strategy stood out to you the most, and how could it help you strengthen your resilience when you face stress or uncertainty?
Alison Perreault 4/30/2026 4:30 PMTaking time to myself. Getting outside and moving is so important for managing anxiety. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?
Alison Perreault 4/30/2026 4:30 PMI knew that I was addicted to sugar and still am. I feel better when I limit it or remove it entirely. It's everywhere. Today at the grocery store I reminded myself to stick to the outside aisles and not to go down the aisles with all the sweet treats.-
Kerry Keck 4/30/2026 6:11 PMI am having to learn how to eat a low-sodium diet, and am reminding myself not to fall into the trap of sugar-laden alternatives! Like you, success for me will be staying on the perimeter of the grocery store

Alison Perreault 4/24/2026 11:49 AMDay 24 and happy to say my reusable "cups" have been going everywhere with me, even on the train each week as I travel to and from Boston. Easy to refill and keep my water/coffee/tea consumption earth friendly!-

I get an irrational amount of joy from using good ol' coffee mugs without lids as often as I can. Today I'm rockin' my "I [heart] Germany" mug. I keep a mug in the car too for trips - if you have never tried, you might be surprised how far that will get you in life. Most places will play along and fill you up in your reusable, including Starbucks. -
