Drinking coffee has both beneficial and potentially negative effects on the body, primarily due to its caffeine content. While moderate coffee consumption can offer benefits like increased alertness, energy, and improved focus, excessive intake can lead to negative side effects such as anxiety, insomnia, and heart palpitations.

    Positive Effects:
    • Increased Alertness and Energy:
    • Caffeine, a stimulant, can enhance mental alertness, improve focus, and provide a temporary energy boost.
    • Improved Cognitive Function:
    • Studies suggest that coffee can enhance memory retention and improve cognitive performance in some individuals.
    Potential Health Benefits:
Some research indicates that coffee consumption may be associated with a lower risk of certain chronic diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, and liver disease.

    Negative Effects:
    Anxiety and Insomnia:
Excessive caffeine intake can trigger or worsen anxiety, nervousness, and restlessness, as well as disrupt sleep patterns and lead to insomnia.
Increased Heart Rate and Blood Pressure:
Caffeine can elevate heart rate and blood pressure, which may be problematic for individuals with existing heart conditions or high blood pressure.
    Gastrointestinal Issues:
Coffee can stimulate stomach acid production and may exacerbate digestive issues such as heartburn, indigestion, and diarrhea in some individuals.
    Other Potential Side Effects:
Other potential side effects include headaches, dizziness, tremors, and in rare cases, even more serious reactions like irregular heartbeat or heart attack.
    Important Considerations:
    Individual Sensitivity:
The effects of coffee can vary significantly depending on the individual's sensitivity to caffeine and other factors like age, health conditions, and medications.
    Dosage:
Moderate coffee consumption, generally considered up to 400 mg of caffeine per day (equivalent to about 4 cups of coffee), is generally considered safe for most healthy adults.
    Interactions with Medications:
Caffeine can interact with certain medications, so it's important to consult with a healthcare professional if you have concerns about potential interactions.
    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should limit their caffeine intake due to potential risks to the developing fetus or infant.

I was reminded about sitting with a correct posture. Sharing with you as well:

To sit with good posture at a computer, ensure your feet are flat on the floor, knees are at a 90-degree angle, and monitor is at eye level. Keep your back straight, shoulders relaxed, and wrists neutral. Take breaks and move around regularly to prevent stiffness and strain.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Chair Height and Foot Placement:
    • Adjust the chair so your feet are flat on the floor, and your knees are at a 90-degree angle or slightly lower than your hips. Consider using a footrest if needed.
    • Back Support:
    • Ensure your back is supported by the chair, and consider using a lumbar pillow to maintain the natural curve of your spine.
    Monitor Placement:
Position the monitor directly in front of you, at eye level or slightly below. This prevents neck strain and eye strain.
    Keyboard and Mouse:
Place the keyboard and mouse close enough that you can reach them without overextending your arms.
    Arm and Elbow Position:
Keep your elbows at a 90-degree angle and close to your body.
    Shoulder and Neck:
Keep your shoulders relaxed and your neck straight. Avoid slouching or protruding your head forward.
    Wrist Position:
Keep your wrists straight and neutral while typing and using the mouse.
    Breaks and Movement:
Take short breaks every 30-60 minutes to get up and move around, stretch, or change your sitting position.

I believe it's when you see your family and loved ones continue to love, trust and believe in each other. It's when stories are told and there are roller-coaster of emotions - laughter, tears and even shock in their faces. It's a feeling that even though someone lives apart, your hearts and minds are still connected with one another. When it comes to challenges in hosting, it will always be schedule since most live in other country/ city and we have different priorities already. Well, communication and commitment will always be the key to any relationships

ne of the lessons that I carried from Eco Challenge 2024 until now is on how to properly dispose used cooking oil.
For a year, I was able to lower my oil consumption in which i only have 800ml in my container (for disposal later on). I have a long way to go but I like how I and my family is progressing towards sustainability.
