  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land, Water, and Air
What services, benefits, or value do green spaces provide for you and your community? What inspired you to advocate for more green spaces, and what role do you see yourself playing in future efforts to create or protect green spaces?

Green spaces provide a wealth of services and benefits, both for me personally and for my community. They offer a place for relaxation, exercise, and socializing, which is essential for mental and physical well-being. Green areas also improve air quality, reduce heat, and support biodiversity, contributing to a healthier environment for everyone.

I was inspired to advocate for more green spaces after realizing how limited access to nature can affect people's quality of life, especially in urban areas. These spaces foster a sense of community and belonging, while also offering a refuge from the stresses of city life.

In future efforts, I see myself playing a role in raising awareness about the importance of green spaces, whether through community outreach, supporting local initiatives, or working with local governments to ensure that more green areas are integrated into urban planning. Ultimately, I want to be a part of creating environments that encourage healthier lifestyles and sustainable living
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land, Water, and Air
What did you learn about the importance of wetlands and oceans while advocating for their protection? How do you think your actions could contribute to positive change for these ecosystems?

    vetrivel p's avatar
    vetrivel p 4/30/2025 4:44 AM
While advocating for the protection of wetlands and oceans, I learned how crucial these ecosystems are for maintaining biodiversity, regulating the climate, and providing resources for millions of people. Wetlands act as natural water filters and protect against flooding, while oceans absorb a significant amount of carbon dioxide and provide habitat for marine life.

By reducing my personal carbon footprint, supporting sustainable practices, and raising awareness, I believe my actions can contribute to positive change. Small choices like reducing plastic use, supporting conservation efforts, and spreading knowledge can collectively help protect these vital ecosystems for future generations
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?

    vetrivel p's avatar
    vetrivel p 4/30/2025 4:43 AM
Currently, I get about 6-7 hours of sleep a night, but I’d like to shift to getting 7-8 hours consistently for better rest and overall well-being.

To improve my sleep, I started establishing a more regular bedtime routine, reducing screen time at least an hour before bed, and creating a calming environment with dim lighting. I also cut down on caffeine in the afternoon. These changes have made a big difference in my energy levels during the day, helping me feel more focused, less groggy, and more productive throughout the day.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?

    vetrivel p's avatar
    vetrivel p 4/30/2025 4:41 AM
Before starting the challenge, I didn’t think I was “addicted” to sugar, but I definitely noticed I craved sweets regularly. Now, I feel more in control of my sugar intake and aware of how often I was reaching for sugary snacks out of habit rather than actual hunger.

The most challenging part was dealing with those mid-afternoon cravings, especially when I was tired or stressed. To overcome this, I started replacing sugary snacks with healthier alternatives like fruit or nuts, and I made sure to stay hydrated, which helped reduce the cravings. Over time, I became more mindful of my sugar intake and felt better overall, with more consistent energy levels.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
How did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?

    vetrivel p's avatar
    vetrivel p 4/30/2025 4:40 AM
Exercising daily had a significant impact on both my physical and mental well-being. Physically, I noticed improved stamina, better muscle tone, and more consistent energy throughout the day. Mentally, it helped reduce stress and anxiety, improving my overall mood and focus.

The activity I enjoyed most was cycling. It provided a great cardio workout while allowing me to explore different areas, which kept things exciting. Plus, the outdoor element made it refreshing and gave me a break from routine, helping clear my mind.
