"My goal for the Earth Month Ecochallenge is to make small, everyday choices that help the environment and encourage others to do the same. I want to be more aware of how my actions impact the planet and build better habits that can make a difference over time. Even simple changes can add up, and I want to be part of creating a healthier future for everyone."

Soil and Food
Learn About Sustainable Farming Practices
Healthy soils and resilient food systems depend on how we grow food. I will spend 15 minutes learning about farming practices such as regenerative agriculture, agroecology, or permaculture, and reflect on how they support both people and the planet.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Water
Learn About Water and Climate Change
Water is one of the most visible ways climate change impacts our lives. I will spend 15 minutes learning how climate change affects water in my region and explore actions that can help people and ecosystems adapt.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Community
Express Gratitude and Random Acts of Kindness
Small acts of kindness and gratitude can brighten someone's day and create a positive ripple effect. I will express gratitude to 5 people or perform 5 random acts of kindness to spread joy and connection.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 15 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.

Elizabeth Overholt 4/07/2026 8:28 AMI’m only 7 days into adding meditation and exercise into my routine, and honestly I didn’t expect to notice much this fast, but I have. I feel a little more clear-headed, less stressed, and just overall more in control of my day. It’s not perfect and I’m still figuring it out, but even small changes are already making a difference. It’s a good reminder that you don’t have to wait months to start feeling better, you just have to start.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you discover about how climate change impacts water where you live? How did it change your perspective on resilience?
Elizabeth Overholt 4/02/2026 1:17 PMI learned that climate change is causing more extreme weather, like heavier rain and longer dry periods, which affects water supply and increases flooding risks. It showed me that resilience means being prepared and adapting, not just recovering, so communities can handle these changes better. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhich farming or soil practice did you find most inspiring, and why? How could these approaches help farmers and communities adapt to future challenges?
Elizabeth Overholt 4/01/2026 9:04 AMI think crop rotation and taking care of the soil are really inspiring because they keep the land healthy while still growing food. These practices can help farmers handle problems like climate change and soil damage. They also help communities by making food production more reliable long-term.
