Save Water When Washing Dishes
Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.
What is resilience?
Learn About Ordinary Magic
Resilience is an everyday magic in all of us. I will spend 10 minutes learning about resilience and psychologist Ann Masten’s concept of “ordinary magic,” which shows how people adapt and thrive through small, daily strengths.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
What is resilience?
Reflect on My Own Resilience
Resilience is personal and collective. I will reflect on a time when I adapted to change in my own life, writing down what helped me and what I learned from the experience.

Janet O'Connor 4/02/2026 8:47 AMI save water by running my dishwasher only when it is full, and I mean FULL :). I use the normal wash setting, no pre-rinse. I also conserve energy by letting the dishes air dry.
I air dry some clothes, especially those that take longer in the dryer, like jeans, sweatshirts, and other thicker items. My kids have adopted this practice too!-

- Adventurer 🏔
In the winter I take advantage of the fact that air drying some of my laundry helps return some humidity to the bone-dry indoor air. And I set my clothes in front of the air register to take advantage of that flow of warm air to help them dry quicker. That, plus the energy savings - its a win-win-win
