The most rewarding part of hosting a gathering was seeing everyone having a good time and connecting with each other. One challenge was making sure everything was organized, but I overcame it by planning ahead and getting help from others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community and Connection
What did you enjoy or learn from attending a local event in your community? How did participating in this event deepen your connection to your local area?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 8:27 PM
I enjoyed seeing all the fresh, local food at the farmers market and talking to the people who grew it. It helped me feel more connected to my community and appreciate where my food comes from.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community and Connection
How did checking in with someone strengthen your relationship or provide support? How did it feel to reach out and connect?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 8:26 PM
By checking in with my friends who I don't talk to as often anymore, it felt nice to talk to them again and made me realize how important it is to have a support system and that being part of someone else's can be really important.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
What product did you replace, and why was it important to you? How do you feel about making a small change for a healthier, more sustainable home?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 8:08 PM
I tried replacing a few of the harsh chemical cleaners in my house with natural alternatives. These natural cleansers are more sustainable because they tend to be biodegradable and come in more eco friendly packaging which is better for the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 8:04 PM
Before the challenge, I didn’t think I was addicted to sugar, but I realized I ate it more than I thought. Now I feel better and have more energy. The hardest part was skipping sweet snacks, but I opted for fruits instead.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Well-Being
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 8:03 PM
Eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat is good for my health because it gives me more nutrients and can lower the risk of some diseases. It also helps other people by reducing demand for meat which lowers greenhouse gas emissions. I tried eating more bell peppers which I ended up enjoying.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife
How did it feel to plant something, and what kind of gardening did you do (indoors, hydroponic, outside in a garden, etc)? What did you plant and where? Feel free to share a photo to the feed!

I planted spinach in my garden outside. It felt nice to do something new that would also benefit the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 7:47 PM
One way I can reduce my impact on nature is by staying on marked trails to avoid damaging plants and wildlife. This is an easy thing I can do which helps keep the area healthy and enjoyable for others as well as maintaining a healthy ecosystem in my surroundings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife
How did your experience go in trying an action to Leave No Trace? Did you notice others doing the same, or not? From a perspective of having empathy for others, why might people not adhere to the Leave No Trace principles?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/30/2025 7:43 PM
Trying to follow leave no trace went pretty well. I made sure to pick up my trash and stay on trails. I noticed some people doing the same, but others weren’t as careful. I could see why some people might not follow the rules because they don’t know about them, or they might not realize the impact of their actions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land, Water, and Air
What was the most unexpected piece of trash that was picked up during your local cleanup effort? How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?

    Rosie Nunez's avatar
    Rosie Nunez 4/29/2025 11:56 PM
The most unexpected pieces of trash that I found during my cleanup was a variety of dog or cat toys. Working with others to better my community made me feel good.
