Action Track: Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 2 hours in my community.
Action Track: Community
Keep My Community Clean
At times it may not feel like it's up to us to keep our community clean and healthy, but we all have a role to play. Each day I am outside, I will pick up any litter I see.
Climate + Air
Declutter My Home Without the Landfill
Each day, I will learn about responsible ways to dispose of items and de-clutter, clean, donate, repurpose or recycle unneeded items in my home to make sure that what I get rid of doesn't go into the landfill.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Kathy Nixon 4/26/2024 9:33 AMHappy Friday!! Super fun windy day today! My challenge today was how to keep what I picked in my collecting bag, with it not escaping in the wind. LOL. With a couple of reboots, I figured it out. ;)-

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Community Volunteer in my CommunityHow does volunteering enhance your community and/or change your relationship with it?
Kathy Nixon 4/25/2024 9:53 AMWhen I volunteer it hits me right in the heart and it makes me feel like a real part of the community. Doing a service or activity that is really needed and it makes me want to do more. My community is ALL the people in it, and they are ALL important.-
Bhavish Arunkumar 4/25/2024 10:04 AMAmazing and well said in the last line.

Kathy Nixon 4/05/2024 6:32 AMI joined the challenge to be a part of the Comerica team and to learn more about what I can do to help this earth. I choose the actions I did because I thought they would be easy to manage, these are things I see each day and haven't done anything about them. I am hoping to make good habits.-
Lauren Combs 4/14/2024 6:43 AMSame here, Kathy. Hoping to build lasting habits.

Kathy Nixon 4/05/2024 6:24 AMThe challenge is going really well, I am surprised by the litter/debris that is near the building where I work. I have gone out each day and picked up big and small pieces to dispose of and I still see more to do. It's always bothered me to see it, but I managed to walk away from it. (not good!) I think this challenge has really opened my eyes to being more present and willing to do my part to help keep this area and my community clean. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Community Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Kathy Nixon 4/01/2024 12:27 PMI feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in my community. Taking care of the community I live in is important to me.-
Lenora Andrews 4/02/2024 7:50 AMKeep up the good work Kathy. I went to take out the trash yesterday and there was a plastic bag blowing in my next door neighbors brush as I passed by; instead of leaving it there, I grabbed it and placed it with my garbage. We all have to take pride in our communities.
