Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Community
Offer a Skill or Service
Sharing our talents can benefit those around us. I will offer my skills or services that contribute to local self-sufficiency, such as teaching a repair skill or helping with a neighbor's garden.
Soil and Food
Compost My Food Waste
Composting turns waste into a resource, building soil health and cutting methane emissions from landfills. I will compost food scraps at home, school, or in my community, which avoids sending up to 0.42 lbs (0.19 kg) of food waste to the landfill per day.
Action Track
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 1 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Water
Collect Rain Water
Rainwater collection reduces water waste and supports local needs. I will install a rain barrel or collect rainwater to use for outdoor tasks, such as watering plants or cleaning.
Community
Take Part in a Community Beautification Project
Working together builds resilience and pride in the places we care about. I will participate in 5 community projects such as a cleanup or local beautification project that strengthens connections and shared purpose.
Soil and Food
Preserve or Store Food
Preserving food through freezing, drying, or fermenting helps food last longer, reduces waste, and ensures supplies during difficult times. I will preserve or store food during the challenge to strengthen household and community resilience.
Community
Express Gratitude and Random Acts of Kindness
Small acts of kindness and gratitude can brighten someone's day and create a positive ripple effect. I will express gratitude to 3 people or perform 3 random acts of kindness to spread joy and connection.

Cris Mullins (them/him) 4/24/2026 11:59 AMLast weekend I changed my partner's oil and taught her how to jack up the car, remove the oil plug & filter, and how to properly dispose of the oil afterwards! She told me she didn't know that people can and do change their own vehicle oil haha!-

That's awesome! I think I'm the only one in my household who doesn't know how to do an oil change...I probably should learn this, just in case. haha

Cris Mullins (them/him) 4/24/2026 11:56 AMMeal prepping is easy for me a lot of the time because I hyperfixate on one food and want to eat it every day.... recently it has been rice and beans! I like to thinly slice tomatoes and red onions & toss them in some vinegar, salt and pepper as a lil topping! Anyway.... what leftovers are you all eating this week?? -
Cris Mullins (them/him) 4/01/2026 12:48 PMHi friends!! I'm so excited for this year's ecochallenge (: Some things I hope to work on this month are: creating a "compost insert" for my garden, finding a way to collect rainwater from my lil townhome, eat more of the food I grow and SHARE more of the things I grow, as well as more personal goals like being more present with myself and others - making sure to care for my body! I've also been wanting to host a monthly craft night using scrap supplies! Lots of ideas this month & I'm so excited to see everyone else's as well! (:
