Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Health and Well-Being
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 8 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Health and Well-Being
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 60 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Community and Connection
Check In with a Friend or Colleague
Staying connected strengthens relationships and boosts well-being. Each day, I will reach out to 1 friends or colleagues to check in, have a meaningful conversation, or offer support.
Community and Connection
Explore My Area
Discovering what’s nearby fosters a deeper connection to my community. I will explore 4 new places in my area, such as parks, historical sites, or local businesses.
Wildlife
Learn the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace
Leave No Trace means enjoying nature responsibly by minimizing our impact and leaving the environment as we found it, or better. I will spend 40 minutes learning about the seven core principles to minimize my impact while enjoying the outdoors.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity and ConnectionWhat new places or experiences did you discover in your local area? How has exploring your community changed your perspective or sense of connection?
Ava Mitchell 4/08/2025 12:50 PMMy friends and I all went on a hike/walk by the Vermillion River and through town a little bit. This hike was really cool to discover becuase it was safe, pretty, outside, and all around good for me. This changed my perspective on my community because it showed me that there are hikes around me that are available. I grew up in the Black Hills always hiking so being outdoors is something that is really special to me so to discover this in my college town makes me feel closer to my home town. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?
Ava Mitchell 4/08/2025 12:48 PMI got about 2 hours more of sleep than I normally get on a regular basis. This effected my next day by giving me more energy and a more positive attitude for class because I was not tired. I would like to continue to get more sleep because I had a much better and more productive day when I got more sleep.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity and ConnectionHow did checking in with someone strengthen your relationship or provide support? How did it feel to reach out and connect?
Ava Mitchell 4/08/2025 12:45 PMI checked in with one of my past volleyball coaches and it felt nice to talk about life, whats been going on, and how we are. This strengthened out relationship because I feel like we haven't talked in a while and I think by me reaching out it just helped both of us remember that we are both here for each other.-
