Work and Organizations
Reduce Waste in My Organization
Waste reduction supports both ecological and organizational resilience. I will work with others to conduct a waste audit and reduce waste in my organization, such as paper, plastics, or energy use.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Remove Invasive Species
Removing invasive species (species that are not naturally found in my area and can outcompete native plants) can help beautify nature around me and protect local biodiversity. I will learn about invasive plants in my area and, if possible, support or participate in at least one effort to beautify nature near me by removing invasive species.
Personal
Explore Resources for Managing Anxiety
Anxiety can be overwhelming, but resources and strategies can help. I will spend 10 minutes exploring resources that help manage anxiety and stress to support my mental and psychological well being.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 4 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.

for those of us in Indiana

And the best defense is a good offense. I like to try to drop in a native or at least a non-aggressive perennial in their place:

also for those of us in Indiana, many counties and regions' dept of natural resources have replacement programs. You may be able to get a free tray of plants or tree! Just google your county/region and "invasive plant replacement program"
and in years past, if you become an adopt-a-block captain for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, you have been able to get a free native tree and tray of plants. I don't know if they do it every year but it is a great program I can vouch for:

Keep up the great work Jill! Biodiversity is a cornerstone of a healthy neighborhood!
