Community
Discover How Communities Build Resilience
Every community around the world faces challenges—from natural disasters to economic changes—and find ways to adapt and thrive. I will spend 30 minutes exploring stories of community resilience and reflect on what lessons I can bring to my own community.
Community
Support Local Businesses
Supporting local businesses helps keep communities vibrant and resilient. I will choose to shop at 2 local businesses or restaurants, with a focus on businesses owned by people of color, local farmers, or community members.
Water
Collect Rain Water
Rainwater collection reduces water waste and supports local needs. I will install a rain barrel or collect rainwater to use for outdoor tasks, such as watering plants or cleaning.
Water
Learn About Water Justice
Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet many communities worldwide lack it. I will spend 60 minutes learning about water justice issues and who is most affected, and share one insight in the feed.
Water
Create My Own Water Action
Everyone’s water needs and use are different. I will create an action that works for my life and supports water resilience—and make my commitment public by sharing it in the feed to inspire others.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Community
Offer a Skill or Service
Sharing our talents can benefit those around us. I will offer my skills or services that contribute to local self-sufficiency, such as teaching a repair skill or helping with a neighbor's garden.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Work and Organizations
Celebrate Successes Together
Celebrating achievements helps teams endure challenges. I will help organize ways to celebrate group or individual successes in my organization to build morale and resilience.
Work and Organizations
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 3 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.

Danielle Lovett 4/27/2026 9:05 AMWe had to travel out of town this weekend for my son's basketball tournament, the hotel had recycling receptacles in the hotel room, which I thought was great. We also noticed all the solar panels in the fields outside of Bloomington, along 74. We are working on conserving energy at my house, unplugging things that aren't in use.-

Danielle Lovett 4/21/2026 9:22 AMI was off to a slow start, but with warmer days ahead, I am able to get outside and get to work. Cleaning up my community, and picking up trash, which I have my 11-year-old son helping me. I am also on a team with my job, Carle BroMenn Medical Center. It is great to have so many people making the world a better and cleaner place!-
