Michele's actions
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Plant Trees
Trees are vital for resilience, storing carbon, sheltering biodiversity, and protecting water and soil. I will plant 8 trees in my yard, community, or through a local project to help ecosystems adapt and thrive.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Choose Native Plants
Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.
Work and Organizations
Recognize Someone’s Contribution
Recognition strengthens trust and connection. I will recognize 4 people in my organization for their contributions, showing appreciation that helps build resilience and morale.
Soil and Food
Grow Something to Eat
Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.
Work and Organizations
Celebrate Successes Together
Celebrating achievements helps teams endure challenges. I will help organize ways to celebrate group or individual successes in my organization to build morale and resilience.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
What is resilience?
Reflect on My Own Resilience
Resilience is personal and collective. I will reflect on a time when I adapted to change in my own life, writing down what helped me and what I learned from the experience.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 5 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Personal
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.

As this year's challenge comes to an end, I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for those who participated, provided content, posted on my feed, and provided encouragement to keep going! This has truly been a joy to support, and I'm a little sad I won't be able to see all of the really interesting posts going forward. Thank you!-

Happy Sunday! We are in the final stretch. This has been a wonderful experience not only to share my actions, but to get so much enjoyment seeing how every one else has contributed to the challenge. -

Heading into the final weekend of this challenge, I enjoyed spending some time this morning reflecting on my actions and contributions over the past month to identify behaviors I should continue. I'm already thinking of ways to expand my garden, looking for new areas to plant more trees and protect what is natural, and working on ways to continue to improve mindful methods of personal growth through meditation, journaling, and community. Happy Saturday! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What personal strengths or supports helped you adapt to a past challenge? How might those same strengths help you in the future?
Michele Little 4/25/2026 6:01 AMA personal strength that has helped me adapt to past challenges is the ability to put myself in the other person's shoes to put things in perspective and try to see their side when problem-solving conflicts for resolution. As things change and grow, struggling with adaptability is common, so continuing to develop this skill or "strength" will keep me on the right track for effectively navigating change. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat native plants did you choose, and how do they support wildlife in your area? Share a photo in the feed!

When shopping for trees at the nursery, I was sure to inquire about native plant options. They were instrumental in helping me make selections that were perfect for my yard, neighbors, community, and the wildlife in my area. -

Today is my 1st work anniversary, and I celebrated it with two other team members who started on the same day I did last year. We all celebrated each other! We were all happy to see that each of us was still here.
