It was a good experience putting on a public beach clean-up with some friends. I did it in OB which I chose because It's known for being fairly dirty. I got a lot of the same types of trash like plastic, glass, and cigarettes.

I enjoyed going to my local farmers market where I went to my favorite pop-up stand which is Asian food. I got my bao buns and pork buns and I also got some smoothies which were good. I like to go to these farmers markets because I like to support the smaller businesses over big corporations.

I learned me and my neighbors have a lot in common because I live near the beach. My neighbors are surfers and also fishermen which was cool because now when I see them I talk to them about my hobbies which are also theirs.

In the state of California the common preparation is to have a sturdy house or building you live in within the case of an earthquake. Also to have flashlights and/or candle which will most likely be used in power outages. On top of this have a place you can go to in the case of evacuation.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Knowing that I'm at an age where it is important to monitor health and growth patterns it is important to get check-ups at this time. After I got this check-up it made me feel reassured on how my health is doing and I don't need to worry about Possible risks.

Eating fruits and vegetables are important to eat and they positively affect you and your health. I ate apples, carrots, and watermelon today which are all high in vitamin counts. These vitamins are good for overall health and make sure you are not low on nutrients.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife
How do pollinators impact your daily life, and what changes can you make to ensure they continue to thrive?

    Noa Lehr 4/28/2025 10:03 AM
Pollinators help the growth of the plants in my local environment. This is very important because without pollinators such as bees, hummingbirds the plant life would most likely decrease due to lack of spread of nutrients and Pollin. This is why it is key to be involved and knowledgeable about the local species and be safe around possible hives and bees nests.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Tourists when visiting an area they are unfamiliar with area usually unaware of how simple actions can affect the nearby wildlife. For example one of the most visited places is Hawaii and I did some research on things that tourists should be aware of. Sunscreen in Hawaii is very strict as you can't use sunscreen with certain things in them that may hurt their reefs which is why Hawaii is so strict on things you bring into the state.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What species did you discover and log? Why do you think that logging species can help protect them?

In my area I have a lot of squirrels especially on and near the beach hiding in the bushes. Along with seagulls, pigeons and I saw a fox in the street as well. By logging these species I am able to become aware of the species in my area and by logging them again in the future I can find out how their population is being affecting.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was the most unexpected piece of trash that was picked up during your local cleanup effort? How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?

I feel that the most common piece of trash which was also expected by me was the cigarette butt which I found a ton of. I did my cleanup in OB a while back and found of plastic and cardboard just laying in the streets. The most uncommon piece of trash I found which I didn't expect was glass because there was a lot of broken bottles in the area I chose for my cleanup.
