    I spent my Earth Day making this planter/rain-collector out of an old pot and a kitty litter container. It rained today and worked! I am going to use it to water the rest of my potted plants this year!

    I researched preparedness early in the month and then started to drop hints about what I'd learned to my wife and kids. By the time my birthday rolled around in the middle of the month, they got me a portable power-station as a present!!!

    Oak trees are a keystone species where I'm at in MN. They are a crucial home for caterpillars and moths, another integral part of our life around here.
