Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Health and Well-Being
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Empowering the Next Generation
Learn about a Young Leader
Young people are making a big impact on the world. I will spend 90 minutes learning about a young leader working on environmental or social justice issues to get inspired and share their story on social media or the Ecochallenge feed.
Community and Connection
Meet My Neighbors
Strong neighborhoods are built on connection and trust. I will introduce myself to 3 neighbors or spend time getting to know people in my community.
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.
Wildlife
Plant (or Adopt) a Plant
Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Replace a Product
Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 2 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.
Health and Well-Being
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 20 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Sustainable Innovation
Choose a Product Made with Sustainable Materials
Every choice matters. I will purchase or switch to products made from sustainable or recycled materials to support innovation and reduce environmental impact.
Land, Water, and Air
Learn About Water Justice
Access to clean water is a basic right, yet not everyone has it. I will spend 40 minutes learning about water justice issues and who is affected.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Samiksha Kamble 4/30/2025 9:06 AMI scheduled my check-up because I believe regular check-ups are crucial for both my own health and the well-being of my family. Turns out, I was a bit low on iron, so it was a good wake-up call. Afterward, I felt relieved and more aware of what I need to focus on for a healthier lifestyle -

- 17-DAY STREAK
Exercising every day, even just for 20–30 minutes, really made a difference in how I felt physically and mentally. It gave me more energy, reduced stress, and improved my overall mood. I especially enjoyed cycling and badminton—they’re both fun and fast-paced, making them my go-to activities for staying active.-

Today, I watched my mom use vegetable scraps to nourish her plants, and it made me think about how resourceful she is. Instead of throwing them away, she turns them into natural compost. It’s a simple act, but it’s such a sustainable way to give back to the earth.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Samiksha Kamble 4/28/2025 7:03 AM- Earth Advocate 📣
- 17-DAY STREAK
The challenge was difficult because plastic is so widely used in India, especially by vendors for vegetables, fruits, and medicines, making it hard to avoid. However, carrying a large reusable bag with quirky designs made it easier for me. Not only was it practical, but the fun designs made it more enjoyable to use.

Marlene Martin 4/28/2025 7:36 AMIn Colorado, stores are no longer providing plastic bags for free and even the brown paper bags are sold for pennies. So instead, we started using re-usable grocery bags. It's been such a change from a pile of plastic to nothing. However, I was re-using the old plastic bags for my trash, so I had to find a compostable alternative.

Last quarter, I had the chance to visit Kerala and stumbled upon the beautiful Thunbergia mysorensis, also known as Doll's Shoes. These unique flowers not only have an intriguing shape but also has a sweet-tasting liquid, likely nectar (not very sure). It's a reminder of how nature continues to surprise us with its wonders.

I switched to Rustic Art eco-friendly laundry detergent because it aligns with values of sustainability and health. It’s important to me to reduce chemicals in my home and minimize environmental impact. Making this small change feels rewarding, knowing I’m contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet.-

Day 19 and feeling more motivated than ever! Over the past few days, I’ve really started stepping out of my comfort zone—meeting more people who care about sustainability, having real conversations about change, and actively switching to better, more eco-friendly choices in my day-to-day life.
But most importantly, I’ve started focusing on my health—because I’m realizing that taking care of ourselves is just as important as taking care of the planet. It all connects : )
Excited to carry this energy through the last stretch of the challenge and beyond !!!-

One sustainable product I recently purchased is a reusable copper water bottle. Not only does it help me reduce my use of single-use plastic bottles, but copper also has natural antimicrobial properties, which support my health and well-being. This aligns with living more sustainable life while also being mindful of personal health. I appreciate that it’s a traditional, eco-friendly option that connects back to natural wellness practices.-

Metal bottles ftw! Bummer though that mine has a hard time fitting in my cupholders. But MAN is it great to start the day with A LOT of warm water on-hand.

It was inspiring to discover how many people in my area share similar values when it comes to sustainability, local support, and creating a positive environment. By building connections with my neighbors, I’ve realized how much stronger our community can be when we work together. Whether it's helping one another in times of need, or simply sharing ideas, these bonds make our neighborhood a more supportive and resilient place.-
