Samiksha's actions

Health and Well-Being

Reduce Refined Sugar

Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.

COMPLETED 18
DAILY ACTIONS

Empowering the Next Generation

Learn about a Young Leader

Young people are making a big impact on the world. I will spend 90 minutes learning about a young leader working on environmental or social justice issues to get inspired and share their story on social media or the Ecochallenge feed.

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Community and Connection

Meet My Neighbors

Strong neighborhoods are built on connection and trust. I will introduce myself to 3 neighbors or spend time getting to know people in my community.

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Wildlife

Use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.

COMPLETED 14
DAILY ACTIONS

Wildlife

Plant (or Adopt) a Plant

Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Health and Well-Being

Replace a Product

Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 2 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 20 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

Choose a Product Made with Sustainable Materials

Every choice matters. I will purchase or switch to products made from sustainable or recycled materials to support innovation and reduce environmental impact.

Over the past 17 days, I’ve focused on building connections with others while also making small but meaningful changes in my daily habits. I’ve been paying more attention to my health, which has felt really rewarding, and I’ve also started using reusable bags to reduce waste. It’s amazing how these small actions can add up over time, and I’m excited to continue making a positive impact!

It was inspiring to discover how many people in my area share similar values when it comes to sustainability, local support, and creating a positive environment. By building connections with my neighbors, I’ve realized how much stronger our community can be when we work together. Whether it's helping one another in times of need, or simply sharing ideas, these bonds make our neighborhood a more supportive and resilient place.

I learned about Xiye Bastida, a remarkable young leader in the climate movement. What inspires me most about her is her fearless advocacy and ability to mobilize youth for climate justice, reminding us that we all have the power to create change. To support young leaders like her in my community, I am planning to volunteer with local initiatives, attend youth-led events, and help amplify their voices through social media to ensure their messages reach a wider audience.
