Griizma's actions

Personal

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 60 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Soil and Food

Eat Local and Seasonal Foods

Local and seasonal foods require fewer resources, support nearby farmers, and keep soils healthier through diverse planting. I will source 5 meals per week from local or seasonal producers—such as markets, CSAs, or co-ops—to strengthen community food resilience.

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Leave the Leaves

Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Personal

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Water

Take Shorter Showers

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Personal

Enjoy Fruits and Veggies

Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 1 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Water

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

Eating local and seasonal foods is a simple way to reduce our environmental impact. When we choose foods that are grown nearby and in season, they require less water, energy, and transportation. It also supports local farmers and helps maintain healthier soil. Small choices like this can make a big difference for sustainability and resilience.

I learned that most of my water footprint comes from food, especially processed items and animal products. It was surprising how much hidden water goes into everyday foods.
A practical change for me is choosing more whole foods and reducing waste. On a larger scale, these small choices can help conserve water and support more resilient, sustainable food systems.

esterday, I came across Rachel’s post suggesting using a song to time showers, and it actually worked. Shortening my showers made me realize how casually I used to waste water—I’d often stand under the shower lost in thought without noticing the time.
It also made me more mindful of other habits, like turning off the tap while brushing, using a bucket when possible, fixing leaks, and reusing water. Small changes like these can help save a significant amount of water.

Today I chose a bucket over a shower — a small step that saves a lot of water 💧
Every drop matters. Let’s conserve today for a better tomorrow 💙
