  • Reflection Question
Health & Equity Spend Time Outside
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Abhijit Joshi's avatar
    Abhijit Joshi 4/24/2022 11:30 PM
The increase in screen time and staying inside could lead to stress, eye strains, fatigue, nervousness, addiction, neck & back pains, loss of interest in other activities/subjects, not becoming social, increase laziness and thus affect the human life negatively.

Read an article on 'Use of Bamboo & Sustainability' and realized the positive impact of bamboo plantation on sustainability. Compared to an equivalent tree mass, bamboo produces 35% more oxygen and research has shown that bamboo can absorb as much as 12 tonnes of carbon dioxide per hectare per year. That’s a lot of carbon sequestration. Excited to learn more on this subject and explore opportunities and share knowledge on this topic. Carry 'reusable' bags (recycled/cloth) every time before going to shopping. Avoid use of plastic bags. Always keep 'one' cloth bag in the glove box of my car and bike as a 'standby' to avoid any excuses in case of unplanned shopping leading to use of plastic bags :)
