I made a donation to Second Servings of Houston, a non-profit organization that picks up prepared food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to their community partners. Their mission not only helps feed those who need it, they're also reducing food waste (and therefore reducing carbon emissions). I'm happy to support this kind of win-win activity.

If you have a SodaStream or other carbonation machine, did you know you can use it to make your green leafy vegetables last longer? I just bought some spinach yesterday, and I need to try this out: https://www.americastestkitchen.com/cooksillustrated/articles/7053-how-to-keep-salad-greens-fresh-longer
