    Using a reusable bag was not very difficult for me once I got into the habit of carrying it with me or just leaving one in my car. What made it easier was knowing that it helps reduce plastic waste and is better for the environment.

    One new place I discovered around National City is Pepper Park, a small waterfront area that has nice views of the bay and space to relax or fish. I also explored the trails near Paradise Creek, where I learned about how the wetlands are being restored to help local wildlife and reduce pollution. Exploring these spots made me feel more connected to the environment and showed me that even in a busy urban area, there are important places worth protecting and appreciating.

    The most unexpected piece of trash we picked up was an old, rusty shopping cart stuck in a bush. Working with others to clean up made me feel proud and connected to my community, like we were all doing something good together. It also made me realize how much of a difference teamwork can make in keeping our environment clean.
