Take the Earth Month Ecochallenge Feedback Survey
I will take a short survey about my experience to help the Ecochallenge team improve future events, earn a chance to win a prize, and earn 15 points!
Share My Why
Share My Why
I will share my Ecochallenge story and why I'm taking action for the planet — and earn 15 points!
Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Sustainable Innovation
Learn about Regenerative Agriculture
Healthy soil, healthy planet. I will spend 30 minutes learning about regenerative agriculture and how it helps restore ecosystems, improve soil health, and combat climate change.
Wildlife
Learn to Grow Plants Your Way
Growing plants can be rewarding and can create habitats big and small for wildlife. And, we can grow things almost anywhere! I will spend 60 minutes researching options for growing plants either inside or outside.
Health and Well-Being
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 30 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Land, Water, and Air
Attend Recycling & Waste Reduction Lunch & Learn
April 25
Land, Water, and Air
Reduce Food Waste
Wasting food also wastes water, energy, and resources. I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation, and commit to reducing my food waste throughout the challenge.
Land, Water, and Air
Choose Eco-Friendly Wood and Paper Products
Trees provide food and habitat for local wildlife species, shade our streets and homes, and help keep our air and water clean by capturing pollutants. I will learn about certification labels and buy wood and paper products certified as sustainable or recycled to protect forests and reduce environmental harm.
Land, Water, and Air
Calculate My Carbon Impact
Knowing our carbon footprint is the first step to reducing it. I will calculate my carbon impact and identify lifestyle changes that could reduce the carbon footprint and impacts on the environment. I will share my commitments to lowering my impact on the feed.
Land, Water, and Air
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Land, Water, and Air
Learn to Choose Forest-Friendly Foods
Our food choices can help protect forests and wildlife. I will spend 30 minutes learning how to choose foods that are grown in ways that protect forests, such as avoiding products linked to deforestation and seeking certified sustainable options like shade-grown coffee or palm oil-free products.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 30 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Health and Well-Being
Audit Toxic Products in my Home
Many common products contain harmful chemicals. I will spend 30 minutes researching chemicals found in products I use, and I will make a list of products I'd like to replace with safer options.
Health and Well-Being
Replace a Product
Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 2 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.
Sustainable Innovation
Advocate For Better Food Packaging
When companies and governments make large-scale changes to their products and practices, it makes sustainability more accessible to the masses, in turn creating further demand for sustainable products, and the cycle continues. I will advocate for improved, sustainable food packaging through petitions, letters, or by supporting brands that prioritize eco-friendly packaging - and share my advocacy actions on the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Hannah Jones 4/29/2025 11:01 AMI was motivated to schedule a check-up because I am in need of my annual physical and I am also feeling a little under-the-weather lately and want to make sure everything is ok! I feel relieved to have this scheduled and am looking forward to talking with my PCP to make sure that I am healthy and can stay that way! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhere in your life do you emit the most carbon? What change are you willing to make in your daily life to reduce this output?
Hannah Jones 4/22/2025 5:37 AM- Artist 🎨
- 10-DAY STREAK
It looks like most of the carbon emissions come from my house! Unfortunately, I rent with roommates, so there is not much that I can personally do in that area. However, I can do things like continuing to walk to work, buying seasonal and local products, and reducing plastic consumption! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat surprised you most about your water footprint, and how did it influence your perspective on water use? What changes can you make to reduce your water consumption, and how will these impact your daily routine?

- 10-DAY STREAK
Despite it saying I used less water than average, I was still so surprised by the high number! It makes me feel like I'm being so wasteful! I'm going to try and reduce my water consumption even more by only turning on faucets when I'm actively using them, trying to keep showers shorter, and being more mindful about how I water my plants. I don't think it will have too much of an impact on me! My roommates however... -

I have a small kit of necessary emergency medical supplies in an easily accessible location and have mapped parts of my home that would be the safest in different natural disasters like tornadoes, flooding, and earthquakes. I also make sure that, during any extreme weather, I have a weather radar pulled up and am tuned it to where a storm cell might be and where it might be going. -

I think it's going really well! I am having a good time really putting in the effort to learn how to be an even more environmentally conscious person and am applying a lot of this new knowledge to my everyday life! But especially in my home garden ;) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat surprised you most about the products you use in your home?
Hannah Jones 4/11/2025 5:55 AM- Artist 🎨
- 10-DAY STREAK
Honestly the thing that is still most surprising to me is how toxic plastic Tupperware and things like black plastic spatulas can be. The same with non-stick pans. These are things I've used every day even since I was a child, so it worries me how much exposure I've already had, but now I am choosing to replace these products with safer, healthier, and more sustainable options! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat product did you replace, and why was it important to you? How do you feel about making a small change for a healthier, more sustainable home?
Hannah Jones 4/10/2025 5:42 AM- Artist 🎨
- 10-DAY STREAK
I have recently replaced some of my old plastic Tupperware containers with glass ones! I have also stopped using paper towels in my house and have just been using reusable washcloths. These changes are important to me because plastic is known to release toxic chemicals and microplastics into the environment and I don't want to add more garbage to the landfill from used paper towels when I can just reuse cloth ones. It makes me feel good to do something, even if it is a small change!-

Hannah Jones 4/10/2025 5:35 AM- Artist 🎨
- 10-DAY STREAK
I learned that forest friendly foods are those that are grown sustainably and do not harm or reduce forests. I will commit to trying to avoid foods that are known to be linked to deforestation and monocropping to try and do my part to keep the world healthy. I will support local farmers and growers as much as I can!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationWhat did you learn about the practice and benefits of regenerative agriculture? How can you support healthy farming practices for people and the planet?
Hannah Jones 4/10/2025 5:32 AM- Artist 🎨
- 10-DAY STREAK
I learned that there are many different ways that we can grow food while keeping our environment intact! For example, focusing on biodiversity instead of monocropping. I can help support healthy farming practices by using them in my own garden and doing my research to buy local produce.
