Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.
What is resilience?
Share a Resilience Story
Stories connect and inspire us. I will share 30 resilience stories—either from my life, my community, or from a leader or culture I admire—through conversations, social media, or the event feed to help others see resilience in action.
What is resilience?
Reflect on My Own Resilience
Resilience is personal and collective. I will reflect on a time when I adapted to change in my own life, writing down what helped me and what I learned from the experience.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 45 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 15 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
What is resilience?
Explore Resilience in Nature
Resilience is all around us in the natural world. I will spend 15 minutes outdoors looking for examples of resilience—such as plants regrowing, animals adapting, or seasonal cycles—and reflect on what they teach about thriving through change.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What examples of resilience did you notice outdoors? How did spending time in nature shape your understanding of resilience?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 8:10 PMToday, after my walk I cut through my side yard to get to my house. I sat and watched a squirrel dig in my yard for about 5 minutes, looking for winter stored food. I wondered where it had been all this time, how it faired over the winter and was in awe as he found his buried treasure! As I made it up to my door, I noticed the daffodils are starting to pop - those flowers were here when we bought this house almost 7 years ago, and the previous owner shared with me that she planted them in 90's. what! Nature is amazing and resilient. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What personal strengths or supports helped you adapt to a past challenge? How might those same strengths help you in the future?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 8:07 PMToday's specific challenge was being fully present on my yoga mat. I really didn't want to be there, was annoyed that I started it, felt guilty that I was feeling annoyed, and about stopped a handful of times. I worked through those feelings during the first few minutes and got it done and was better for it! Sometimes we just have to get through the hard to earn that reward!-
Therese Herzog 4/02/2026 3:51 AMI was the same at my gym, did not want to be there, but then I pushed through and managed to get 45 minutes on elliptical and I slept so well. Thanks for reminding me to be present in the moment. (:

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 8:06 PMI easily jam pack a salad with protein by adding in beans. depending on the type of salad, I sometimes make a greek yogurt based dressing. Today's salad was a basic chef's salad packed with all the pre-chopped veg! reducing that imprint and supporting the local farmer's market truck that cruises by on thursdays! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? How might mindfulness or calmness support your well-being day to day?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 8:04 PMI do Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. My morning was scattered and I got started later than I normally do. I was actually annoyed when getting on my mat, talking to my husband during the first few minutes of flow, and I forgot my water. about 5 minutes in I decided to chill and re-focus, and was able to fully be present on the mat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 8:01 PMDaily exercise is a must for me! I work FT and go to school PT and exercising helps me not only physically move but allows me to destress and set time for myself. Strength training is my go-to followed by walks outside! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat natural features did you leave in place, and what wildlife do you think could benefit from them?
Amanda Johnson 4/01/2026 1:43 PMThis past weekend we had really nice weather. After a long and windy winter, our yard had so many fallen branches. I picked up the branches; however, the nicer weather was making me want to get into the beds and do some clean up. The piles of fall leaves around the beds that were covered in snow all winter remained in place, and as I was picking up branches around them, I actually noticed 2 snails moving around the leaves. It was the exact visual reminder I needed, to not touch those beds! -
