My Earth Month Ecochallenge 2025: Conservation has been a mix of successes and learning. I’ve made small changes like using less plastic and conserving water, but I also realized I have more to work on. It’s been a good reminder to be more mindful of my impact, and I plan to keep these habits going after the challenge ends.

I talked to a few local shops about using less plastic and shared info online about eco-friendly packaging. Some were open to it, others weren’t sure because of cost. Still, it felt good to get the conversation started. If more places used sustainable packaging, we’d see less pollution and waste, which would really help the environment in the long run.

How did collecting rainwater influence your understanding of sustainable water use? What tasks or activities could benefit most from rainwater collection in your household?

    • 14-DAY STREAK
Collecting rainwater made me realize how much clean water we often waste on tasks that don’t need it. It showed me that there are simple, practical ways to use natural resources more wisely. Before this, I didn’t think much about where our water comes from or how much is used every day, but actually collecting rainwater helped me understand how valuable it is—and how easy it is to take it for granted.
In my household, tasks like watering plants, cleaning outdoor areas, or even flushing toilets could benefit the most from rainwater collection. It’s a small change, but if more people did it, it could reduce water bills and ease pressure on local water systems.

    Empowering the Next Generation
What impressed you most about the youth-led project you supported, and how did your involvement help?

What impressed me most about the youth-led project I supported was how committed everyone was, even without a lot of resources or experience. The team was really organized and focused on making a real difference, whether it was through cleaning up local parks or spreading awareness about waste reduction. It wasn’t flashy, but it was genuine—and that stood out to me.
My involvement helped by showing up consistently and doing the work that needed to be done, whether it was picking up trash, helping set up for events, or just encouraging others to join. Being part of it helped me see that even small efforts can support a bigger cause, and it made me feel more connected to the people in my community who actually care about the environment.

    Community and Connection
What resources did you discover, and how do you think they can benefit your community? How did sharing this information make you feel more connected to your community’s needs and opportunities?

    • 14-DAY STREAK
During the Earth Eco Challenge, I discovered several valuable resources such as local recycling centers, community composting programs, and educational platforms that promote sustainable living. I also learned about organizations offering workshops on reducing plastic use and conserving water. These resources can greatly benefit my community by encouraging more responsible consumption, reducing waste, and building a stronger culture of environmental awareness.
Sharing this information made me feel more connected to my community because I realized that many people care about the same issues and are eager to take action but may not know where to start. By spreading awareness, I felt like I was contributing to something bigger than myself—helping others see that small changes can lead to meaningful impact. It was empowering to be part of a movement that brings people together around shared values and solutions.
