Jessica's actions
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Soil and Food
Grow Something to Eat
Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.
Personal
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Water
Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Mulching helps soil hold water and reduces runoff. I will mulch the base of trees or other plants at home, school, or in my community to improve water retention and soil health.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat did you decide to grow, and how did it feel to start (or care for) your plants? What connections did it give you to soil or food resilience?
Jessica Ixcoy Sica 4/30/2026 12:34 PMI grew up with parents that garden, unfortunately I live in a apartment where there is no space for plants. So I decided to go and get some cilantro and rosemary in small pots that I can place by my sink where they can get water and sunlight, and so far they are doing very well and I have been able to use a little for cooking and garnishing, -
Jessica Ixcoy Sica 4/22/2026 10:07 PMMy dad has a garden in the back of his house, and we went together to buy a bunch of mulch for his garden. It took us almost all day to spread it around, it was tiring but the garden looks much better. We even had left overs to place in the front of the house where my rose bush was at. -
Jessica Ixcoy Sica 4/22/2026 10:04 PMI hosted a fun family get together at my parents house. We grilled all types of things and my other family brought food that they have made themselves. It was a very fun time and well enjoyed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Jessica Ixcoy Sica 4/06/2026 5:26 PMI needed to have my yearly dental cleaning, which I have delayed due to scheduling. Now I was able to get it done and I feel great and accomplished for final completing my checkup.
