Albert's actions
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 7 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Remove Invasive Species
Removing invasive species (species that are not naturally found in my area and can outcompete native plants) can help beautify nature around me and protect local biodiversity. I will learn about invasive plants in my area and, if possible, support or participate in at least one effort to beautify nature near me by removing invasive species.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Choose Native Plants
Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Increase Earthworms in my Composter and Garden
Save earthworms that flee the wet soils to my driveway when it rains and relocate them to my composter and garden.
Action Track
Environmental Volunteer Opportunity - FCR Volunteer Day
Give back to your community & the environment by participating in an environmentally-related volunteer activity this April. Not only will you get points in the EcoChallenge, but this counts towards FCR's corporate volunteer day objective as well!
Soil and Food
Pack Lunch Using Leftovers
Finishing leftovers for lunch and not letting it go to waste.
Soil and Food
Use Own Re-useable Container when Picking Up Take-out
Reducing waste by using my own take-out container to take leftovers home when choosing to dine out.

I am trying to take showers with less hot water to use less energy and this should help prevent drying out my skin as much. I find that hot showers make my skin dry requiring moisturizer.
Has anyone tried this, although hotter showers are so much more relaxing?-
Ella Shum 4/08/2026 7:58 AMI realized how much water is being wasted on long showers and how easily the problem can be fixed. I've started to take around 8 minutes rather than 10 to shower

This challenge is making me focus on what I choose to do and not do in a good way. -

I did not add sugar in my coffee today. Instead I used oat milk - what do you think?-

🌱I slowly cut sugar out of my coffee and now its over 15+ years I don’t use any at all ☕
Since I usually drink lactose‑free milk, it feels gentler on my digestion and I actually like the taste better now. ☕🤎 -

Does changing out your winter tires and replacing brakes and rotors yourself count as exercise?
My back would say, “yes”-
