Albert's actions

Personal

Reduce Refined Sugar

Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Personal

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

COMPLETED 23
DAILY ACTIONS

Take the Pre-Survey

Take the Pre-Event Survey

I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Personal

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 7 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Water

Take Shorter Showers

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

COMPLETED 25
DAILY ACTIONS

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Remove Invasive Species

Removing invasive species (species that are not naturally found in my area and can outcompete native plants) can help beautify nature around me and protect local biodiversity. I will learn about invasive plants in my area and, if possible, support or participate in at least one effort to beautify nature near me by removing invasive species.

COMPLETED 6
DAILY ACTIONS

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Choose Native Plants

Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Increase Earthworms in my Composter and Garden

Save earthworms that flee the wet soils to my driveway when it rains and relocate them to my composter and garden.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Getting enough sleep dictates your mood and productivity for the day. Everyone has a different sleep requirement, so take the time to figure how much sleep you need. Getting more sleep is not always the right answer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Biodiversity and Wildlife
What invasive species did you learn about in your area, and how do they impact native plants and wildlife? If you were able to support or partiicpate in an effort to remove invasive species, what did you do, and how it go?

Small actions like staying on marked hiking baths, rinsing your shoes, bike tires etc. can keep invasive species where they belong.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
How did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?

I am trying to take showers with less hot water to use less energy and this should help prevent drying out my skin as much. I find that hot showers make my skin dry requiring moisturizer.

Has anyone tried this, although hotter showers are so much more relaxing?

I realized how much water is being wasted on long showers and how easily the problem can be fixed. I've started to take around 8 minutes rather than 10 to shower

I did not add sugar in my coffee today. Instead I used oat milk - what do you think?

🌱I slowly cut sugar out of my coffee and now its over 15+ years I don’t use any at all ☕
Since I usually drink lactose‑free milk, it feels gentler on my digestion and I actually like the taste better now.

Does changing out your winter tires and replacing brakes and rotors yourself count as exercise?

    My back would say, “yes”
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I find the easiest way to reduce sugar intact is to not drink sugary drinks. Water is a better healthy choice.
