    • 16-DAY STREAK
My "Why": I started caring more about the environment and sustainable practices six years ago. I was scrolling through social media when I came across a video of a whale that had died from starvation. I was shocked and couldn't understand how that was possible. Against my instincts, I finished reading the article and watching the video, only to discover that the whale's stomach was full of plastic—so much that it couldn't eat anymore and died.

This experience changed everything for me. Initially, I cried, but then I decided to research what I could do about it. It has been a bittersweet journey since then. At times, it feels overwhelming and frustrating to realize that individual efforts may not be enough. The guilt can be paralyzing, but once that feeling passes, I continue to share what I learn and do my best. It's not enough, but we have to start somewhere.

Taking advantage of the Easter holidays, I visited the Bogota Botanical Garden this past weekend. My goal was to deepen my understanding of my country's biodiversity and to enjoy some time in nature. I was amazed by the numerous plant and tree species that need protection here. This experience inspired me to make a pledge to visit the local botanical garden in every city I have the chance to visit, so I can continue learning more about our natural world.
